My best friend always has cheated on her boyfriends. She cheated on the guy she dated for like 4 years constantly. She always said she was in love with him at the time.
She hasn't cheated on her finance of 6 months. She says if you really are in love with someone, you cannot cheat on them.
I've never cheated on anyone, but it made me curious, do you think that if you are truly in love with someone, you will be totally unable to cheat on them no matter what?

No I don't think that being in love with someone means you can't cheat on them.
It definitley makes it alot easier NOT to cheat, but the chance of it happening will always be there.
I think the issue is self control. We are human, we are sexual creatures and we all have urges. But when you are in loving, committed relationship, you have to be responsible about the situations you put yourself in. If you know drinking makes it harder for you to say no if someone hits on you, don't drink. Don't put yourself alone with someone you're attracted to if you think you can't say no.
It's more about common sense and realizing what you are about to do isn't worth it. A relationship is work people, you don't automatically stop being attracted to anyone else.

If you cheat, then you're NOT in love with that person enough to be resectful of their feelings. Dump them first to save them the heartache as you whore around.

For me, no way. But honestly, I don't have to be in love not to cheat. If I tell a girl that I'm not dating anybody else, then I'm not dating anybody else. Jennifer Love Hewitt could show up and be begging to sip on some of my gatorade, and I'd not be swayed.
I will, however, break things off with a girl if another girl happens to peak my interest, but that's mostly because I'm not into cheating emotionally either.
Btw, lapdances ain't cheating, right?

You could love someone and cheat on them, but it's wrong. Giving someone else the impression they're the only one and then doing otherwise is wrong. Very wrong. No matter what.

I used to cheat on ALL my boyfriends too. Then one day it came back and slapped me in my face and I learned that it was wrong. Now about the love thing, I can say that I did love (whether I was in love with them or just loved them is questionable) 2 of the boyfriends I cheated on. I think I was just too immature to be tied down.
Now that I'm with Rev, I would never dream of doing that. I am absolutley in love with him and would never want to hurt him that way.
Thats how I came up with the conclusion, you can love someone, and not be in love with them, and if your aren't in love with them, them then whats this commitment all about.. ya know...

My outlook on cheating is simply....we are grown adults therefor we know RIGHT from WRONG which means if you are in a bad situation the best thing to do is remove yourself before anything happens!
Love is a word that gets misused on a daily basis cuz "most people" say it just to get what they want from someone.

i dont think it's so much that if you're in love you are totally unable to cheat... of course you are able. you will see other people you are attracted to, and you may be tempted to go for it. the only difference, as i see it, is that if you're really in love with the person you're with, you will just assess the situation and realize that it's not worth the risk of hurting or losing that person. it's a choice

Don't cheat. Just invite a new person into bed with you and your loved one. What's better than sharing love with everyone, one person at a time?

Katlyn Bree was a huge slut. Aside from that, you most certainly can be in love with someone and still cheat on them, it all depends on the circumstances.
IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!

Tough question...
One one hand, If you are 'In LOVE', Why would cheating on someone be an option?.. Why would you feel the need to go elsewhere?
On the other hand, the one reason why someone would cheat is either to fill an emotional/social void they are feeling since their significant other isn't around to talk to or isn't being the same as in the beginning.. or because the sex has been slowly declining in value and quantity.
In either case, the fact that you lost respect for the person you 'LOVE' and surrendered your tempted flesh to feel just a moment (or a moment each week) of unbridled passion is a slap in the face for them.
But then again, are we talking about 'LOVING' someone or 'BEING IN LOVE'..
A man will always 'LOVE' the woman he fell 'IN LOVE' with, but there are instances that you fall out of 'LOVE' and therein lies the reason why we feel the need to re-ignite passion and lust lost.
If someone cheats on the one they 'LOVE' I believe they have lost respect and complete appreciation for that person.. it's time to move on.
P.S. Extra Credit for those who counted how many times I used 'LOVE'! *hehe*

frightening and generally feels
great.

I told someone I loved her because I thought it was the right thing to do, not because I really loved her.
(She told me she loved me, I wasn't sure how to respond... I realized that when she poured her heart out to me, it was the only thing I could do.)
I cheated on her with someone I really regret going out with...
I agree with you Missy, you absolutely cannot cheat if you're in love.
