What's up with this? Is he trying to become a scrub with a regular name? Farooq sounds much better than RON SIMMONS. Maybe he's trying to seperate himself from Bradshaw and the APA, or Ron Simmons Version 1.

Ah yes when he defeated "Big" Van Vader. God, that was huuuuge. The kiddies probably only know Vader as the self-proclaimed 'big, fat piece of shit', but when he was champ in Dubyah-cee-dubyah, he was an absolute monster. He was fresh from Japan, coming to the ring in the smoking mastodon mask, just beatin the hell out of everyone. When Simmons beat him, it was incredible. I remember watching Simmons pin him with that big powerslam, great match, thanks, Cyyfyy, for the reminder.

Ron Simmons was one of the few guys to get a decent match out of Lex Luger.

And Vader was the man back then. His manhandlings of Sting were classic.

They changed the name back to Ron Simmons so as not to cause any controversy. Apparently, there's an Al Quada cell called "Al Farooq" or something like that. So they changed it back to Ron Simmons.

And Vader is still a monster.
