Ok. . . I confess, today i went to see this braodway play. And it had its good and bad parts. . . I warn you now, this show isn't for everyone.

1st off before i get tooled for going, I have to say the tix normally were 80 bux and I went with my school and paid 8 bux, and that was just for the bus.
2ndly, there are some definately bangerific girls in the show. well only 2 or 3, but still.
3rdly, the lead actor who played Jean Valijean looked like Jesus Christ.

OK now to the review itself. I hated it. The story takes place during the French Revolution. It has theivery, whores, pimps, and of course more whores.

The basis of the stiory is Jean Valijean just gets paroled after 19 years of being in a chain gang. He finds god and helps people. It was very slow, and not worth 80 bux. It also has a love story in it. very twisted. I wouldn't recomend anyone to see it. sure it might be the most popular show on braodway, but everyone i went with (100 people) hated it. Never again will I give in to an 8 bux show. But the high point was having a friend scream "I'M THE GAY GUY ON BROADWAY!" and "NEXT TIME WE HAVE TO SEE. . . FAGGOT OF THE OPERA!" after the show let out. thats it.

I saw it with my ex-girlfriend. She kept falling asleep. I'm not big on musicals, and this was no exception. I'm sticking with dramas.

Ok, I'll admit it.....I saw it about 6
years ago and I LOVED it. I went
out and bought the soundtrack.
Did I even crack open the CD?
Never did.

I usually dislike musicals, but I though Les Miserables was excellent, even though it took place in France.

I think you need some background of the historical context of the story to appreciate it. The love story (and various sacrifices involved) and the story of redemption (of a person who did no wrong) were overall metaphores for the struggle for independance and overthrow of the aristocracy.
