ok. . . I have to say Kevin Smith was correct by writing the Line for Jason Lee in J&SB:SB, the one where he says that after X-Men Hit Big every mvie studio started picking up every lil' omc propery they could get their hands on.

Adn with that said. . . I found a site that lists almost every Comic that will eb made into a film. one fil, slated for a 2003 release date, is THE PREACHER. a classic cult comic, turned film. currently it is on hold due to X-Men 2. but should be amazing. . . anyone else have any comic to film info, post it here and share with the board.

I have NO expectations of Preacher ever being any good, if it gets made at all.

I mean, anyone who's read it knows that it'd never fly as is. If the Catholics got pissed off about "Dogma", they'd go nuclear over this shit. I don't want the source material edited so much that it ruins what made the comic so good.

But even assuming they do everything write script-wise...they'd probably just go ahead and case Ben fucking Affleck as Jesse.

God, I'm such a cynic, but I know I'm right.

Se7en, right now the Lead has been casted. and He is James Marsden, the guy who plays Cyclops from X-Men. Atleast its not Fucking Ben Afleck. But still I think that NJDM Moe would be a better preacher.

I'm torn about "Preacher"
I'm a huge garth ennis (the writer)fan, but i don't see how they can do it right without getting an NC-17 and pissing off every religious person in america.

still, Arseface on the silver screen . . . :)

if they want to do a garth Ennis comic, they should do Hitman. they can have a Batman or an Etrigan cameo even

Any plans to put ZIGGY on the big screen? HA HA!

Anywho, What is the Preacher thing? If Todd thinks I'd make a good lead in the movie, I guess I'd like to see the comic. I'll get a job, then go buy a copy.

Moe, you'd LOVE the comic. Hideously violent, insanely funny, and basically a giant jab at the Catholic church.

Shit, even Bill Hicks showed up in it, and THAT'S impressive.

There was a rumored cast about 2-3 years ago when the rights were bought that sounded pretty dead-on. Johnny Depp as Custer, Angelina Jolie as Tulip, Samuel L. Jackson as The Saint of Killers(!), John Malkovich as Starr, and most perfect of all, Robert Carlysle as Cassidey. They can switch up the cast, but I think Jackson, Malkovich and Carlysle would be pretty perfect in those roles...

Arseface didn't show up in the first arc of the comics, so he won't appear in the first Preacher movie.

I'm looking forward to Neil Gaiman's Death movie. To be written and directed by him.

yes he did. he's the son of the the sheriff who's after Jesse. Jesse tells the sheriff to 'go fuck himself' using the "word of god" and the poor shmuck rips off his dick and sticks it into his own ass. that's what creates the need for vengence in arseface
