The TV in the waiting room?

So is it bad manners to change the channel on the TV if you are the only person in the waiting room. Be it at the dentist or the mechanic or whereever. I just encountered this today and was like "hey, I am not watching golf!" So I changed to football. Does anyone else get wierd aboput it though going to change off the channel? Especially if you switch it to a movie or tv show or something and someone old is sitting by giving you this look like "what the hell are you watching this tripe for? Back in my day....."

Usually I do, unless there are a lot of people, or the thing they're watching is related to what they're doing (ie tennis at indor tennis court) Usually at my barber, there's no one else there, so i can change the channels freely, wheater it be PBS, Nick, or Adult : Censered 4 Kids.

If the others dont like it, they wont tell you, they'll do one of two things : Change the channel them selves, or, go to the staff and tell on you like a little 4 year old (mostly stuck up mothers who were spoiled when they were young)
