i watched it for the first time in about ten years on HBO the other day and while i did laugh several times it just wasn't as good as i remembered it. i guess seeing an R rated movie when you're a kid will make it seem much better than it really was. this movie was legendary in the schoolyard.

Porkys still has some great scenes.
Lassie in the boys locker room.
Ballbreaker and Tommy.
Ballbreaker and the principles office....TALLYWHACKER.....
We want Ron and Fez live in DC.

No. Horribly dated.

Thats the problem with alot of flicks theyre funny as hell when youre a kid but they suck when you watch them as an adult.I had this same problem with Spaceballs.

Kim Cattral was hot in Porkys.
Now she's a cow alongside Sarah Jessica Horseface.
And since we are talking Porkys, whatever happened to Alex Karras?

i know what you mean... Movies that made such an impression years ago...you watch them today and you notice the "old" special effects", the acting skills seem to be average at best and the expectation of "enjoying" the movie as much as you did when you first saw it is not met...
considered Porky's a classic like the 1st "Revenge Of The Nerds" movie but as time goes on my desire to see them diminishes...
Wierd Science was "very funny", I'm curious if it will hold up over time...
One movie that seems to is "The Breakfast Club"

My friends convinced me to watch Porky's for the first time when I was a senior in HS. I was not impressed at all. They had been watching it for many years before. I guess you had to see it when you were younger.
