I thought he beat the
Undertaker and then the Taker
got an immediate rematch and
won the belt back. Or did
they just not count the pin
fall and have a rematch??

I'm not sure if this is right but this is how i remember it. RVD did rolling thunder on TAKER'S FACE it was amazing then he picked up 1-2-3 and was handed the belt and JR was screaming. Then the decision was reversed and and they restarted the match then taker beat him.

If I remember correctly, it was the end of the very boring Ric Flair foot-on-the-ropes angle. RVD got the pin, but Flair raced to the ring & pointed out that Taker's foot was on the ropes & demanded the match be restarted. While RVD grabbed at Flair & threatened him, Taker grabbed RVD and devilered a "Liver shaking Last Ride" for the 1-2-3.
...silent, but violent.
