View Full Version : Buckaroo's Overthruster vs. Micheal J's Flux Capacitor

What would you rather use to travel through time/dimensions?A 1950's Dodge Power Wagon with a rocket engine or a DeLorean with a fission reactor?
The DeLorean is the no-brainer but think of attention you'll get from the Inter-dimensional police.

Has the DeLorean been upgraded so it can be operated while shaking involuntarily?

Couldn't I just run really fast through the time barrier like The Flash?

If it's just a lull, why am I bored right out of my skull?

Overthruster! Hands down!
First of all, The Flux Capacitor was very well conceived, but a Delorean is a piece of shit as a car. I don't think I want to trust my time machine to a cokehead car builder's economic failure, that stalls at the moment of truth.
Now the Overthruster...
That didn't travel through time. It travelled through dimensions! Now that's fucking hardcore!
And well, Buckaroo Banzai had Hong Kong Cavaliers who would be like assistants that were supergeniuses. What the hell did Shakey McTremorboy have? A crazy old Doc and a walkman.

DeLorean with a fission reactor?
Actually it was a fusion reactor- Mr. Fusion to you.
The DeLorean is an awesome car. I aspire to own that car.
Back to the Future is probably my all-time favorite movie.

Are we talkin with or without a Mr Fusion? Because if I can run my time machine on old coffee grinds and beer cans, then I'm set. But if gotta wait for a lighting bolt to strike the watch tower in time square, then I'll take the Overthruster.

Even if it is before Mr. Fusion, the Delorean is a badass ride.

I'm suprised no one picked up on more parallels like both devices were triangular in shape, the DeLorean had to be at 180 mph,BB's rocket car at 200 mph(close enough for quantum physics),and both movies had mad scientists with spiked hair.Did I miss anything?

I thought the DeLorean had to hit only 88 mph.
Towards the end he only leapt into battered fat black women...that's no fun.
On the other hand, chances are once you went back in time it would be into a stampede or something otherwise exciting.
