Does anyone else not give a shit about The Sopranos?

I never really got into the show.. it got famous when i was in college and did not have hbo... i came back home and i just don't give shit about this show.. and no it is not because it is a show about italians and i am irish.. just don't understand what all the fuss is.. they get you going with like8 episodes and then it takes like a whole year before new ones come out.. what the shit is that... well i was just wondering if i was alone on this one..

Watched the show after o&a spoke about it but never got into it. I tried, & tried, & tried. Would diffinitely not watch after the two or less yrs off.

It's a decent show, but I don't go out of my way to watch it. Remember when SNL made fun of all of HBO's Sopranos commercials? I am proud to say that I have not watched one episode. I have never had any interest at all in that show. Nor any other TV show. I only watch Seinfeld reruns, Nick at Night, and some shows on TV Land. These horrible, cheesey, dime-a-dozen shows on now do nothing for me. Man, I sound old.

I don't have HBO but rented the first few episodes to give it a fair shot. Didn't really catch on with me. I see it occasionally when I am travelling on business but still don't get into it. Consider me one of the few who could care less about it.

I don't have HOB, but I watched it at a friend's house one season.

It's OK. But I wouldn't say it's the best thing on TV.

Anyway, TV SUCKS so bad, that's not saying much.

And yes, it's an hour long Italian stereotype.

I never watched an episode and I never wanted to watch an episode and I never HAVE to watch an episode because everygoddamnbody in entertainment talks about the fucking thing. I can't get away from it without a self imposed media blackout and I am sick of it due to oversaturation. I'll be so happy when they're off the air. On a side note I do an imitation of Anthony imitating Uncle Junior and more than one person said to me "You sound just like Uncle Junior". How sad is that?

I enjoy the show, but I'm not one of these die-hards who plans his entire Sunday around it. If I'm around when it's on, I watch it. If not, I'll catch the repeat during the week.

Then again, I've never been fanatical about any TV show.

I love The Sopranos. I'm half-Italian and I am not offended by it.

I think the characters are interesting and the dialogue is funny and clever -- with or without "the mafia element."

And I'd rather half a "short" season and a long wait for one of the best TV shows ever than have to suffer through crappy episodes of "ER" and "The West Wing", which run nine months of the year, 22 episodes.

1. Not liking a show because of over saturation of the media is stupid. Form your own opinion why let the press it gets sway you one way or another.
2. For everyone who says i cant get into it or i dont like TV shows or I only watch network shows you dont get the whold HBO point of....Its not TV its HBO.
Basically HBO has ruined regular TV for me, because of the rawness of the programs they put out. Modern america involves "strong langauge" and some nudity which HBO does not shy away from in any of its shows and is not bound by the same rules regular TV has regarding langauge and nudity (although i think HBO overdoes it on the Homosexual angles on every show).
The list of shows that HBO has had on that are just phenomenal and rarely do you find any bad ones.
For instance here are some of the programs they have had:
1. Dream On---A great comedy in the early 90's that redefined comedy for all shows to follow.
2. Oz---great show that deals with many different issues and the struggles of different groups and the code of life in jail. While some events are convenient for the story lines, you just cant help but get into the characters, plus a show dealing with jail had never been done, its a shame that only one season is left of this show.
3. The Sopranos---again the show that redefined television and pop culture.
4. The Wire---great show, dealing with the drug trade in Baltimore (anyone who watches the show Orlandos really is a strip club but its called the Ritz cabaret showbar). Shows the inadequacies of the baltimore police in the 80's with cocaine and crack to a now epidemic in baltimore with Heroin.
4. Sex in the City--never watched but it is supposedly good
5. Six feet under--watched the first season but not the second--still a good show though--the gay relationship stuff was just to much though.
add onto that Arliss, Larry Sanders Show, Mind of the married man and Larry David and all shows are pretty much good (I hate Arliss though)
And this doesnt include the miniseries they have like Band of Brothers which was phenomenal.
Plus an hour long show is just that an hour long no commercials. Think of it this way a season of the Sopranos is basically equal to putting out 6 feature movies.
But the thing HBO does is make you see the thoughts behind the bad guys, and to show that the actions while inherently bad or evil is done for the best of intentions for example O'Reilly killing the guy on Oz for raping the female Doctor he loves. The characters and the depth of them is what really makes the shows

HBO series never really impressed me, except for fragle rock of course.

The 1st season was great. 2nd season started lousy but ended great. 3rd season was okay (hit & miss). Still, it's the best thing on the air at night now that Ron & Fez are on middays. <P>

I never gave boy bands a chance either but because you are SO knowledged and so obviously more evolved than the rest of us, it does my heart good to know that you acknowledged the sensitivity in your ass long to sit down with a song or two and really determine for yourself if you like them because YOU like them or because the media played them so much you felt compelled to like them.

i'm getting every season on DVD! i love the show! its great to see streets i grew up on and towns i'm from on TV. they film all around where i live.

now for all of you who like the show but hate the fact that they took over a year this season there is a reason. i worked with someone who was a stunt double on the show. she said there had to be a lot of re-shoots this season to "fine tune" things. to make it worse these re-shoots took place when little anthony Jr. decided to get all whacked out on the whacky tabaky and start robbing people (amateur!). so while he was in court that cut into the re-shoot time, so there you go!
