LUCKY 501's

well..i hit 501..not that i care but its struck me that being this is my 501st post id honor lucky 501 jeans by LEVI'S...anyone remember them? Do they still make them? i remember they had button flys and were VERY POPULAR in the late '80's/ early '90's ..one thing that struck out about those jeans and that i never understood was WHY WOULD PEOPLE WANT BUTTON DOWN JEANS!!! i mean what would happen if you had to PEE REALLY BAD? zippers are soo much easier

Yes, they still make 501's. I have 4 pairs of them. They're my favorite jeans. I was cleaning the apartment the other day and found 7 pairs that I had worn out to the point of them being unwearable that I hadn't gotten around to throwing out yet. Once you get used to the buttons, you can get them unbuttoned really quick so it's not much of a problem if you need to get out of them in a hurry.

I love button fly jeans (though not 501s, the tapered leg is �ber-gay)!!!! The fit is so awesome, and they're easy to unbutton - when you undo the first one, you just pull on the fly and they all come down. No stuck zippers for me!!
