A Scoundrel? A Weasel?
Or is he just misunderstood?

I think what he's doing is bad but for some reason it's differnt for Billy. Billy obviously doesn't understand that it's wrong what he's doing. I don't see the big deal but I'm sure if I was Pootertoot Id be ready to kill.

I really don't care if he is or not. I just like using "Cad".
If I had to judge Billy and his odd behavior, I guess I would blame society. Poor Billy is a victim you know.

He shouldn't be taking out EffMe like that, but I believe he's honestly just oblivious to simple social graces...

Billy is a nice guy, not a cad at all (although I agree it's a cool word, particularly followed by the word "bury")
In this instance he overstepped the bounds of propriety not from maliciousness, but out of poor judgement and perhaps lack of social grace in this particular example.

If Billy can convince himself that he's a comedian, and a success in life, he can convince himself that there's nothing wrong with asking out a friend's girlfriend (about whom he's confessed masturbating to!)

Well, it did involve Billy Staples and it wasn't particularily funny, do that's probably a safe bet.

I think one has to ask what effme's role in all this is. A
simple no thank you Billy would probably be the most graceful response. If she did go out with him then I can't see why we should come down on
Billy, other than it's fun to do so. Actually I think Billy would be best off doing another on air mystery date.

Nah nah nah, DO NOT bring Lisa into this. Billy put her in an awkward position. Billy was a pure scum bag. I've been in this position before. It's not easy. It's awkward and, sometimes, a "no thank you" isn't enough.
Lisa is a really awesome woman.

I don't think is a cad. He is trying to be a player. And it don't make you a bad person. However when you put the "moves" on your buddy's chick then you are wrong. Any way Billy has had rough couple of months he need to have a some fun.

Billy's a great guy, and someone I consider a friend.
If he ever asked my chick out to dinner and a show, however, I'd cut his nuts off.

I used to think people who hated Billy just hated him because of being fat and stupid and because it was funnny to make fun of him. But, after this i think hes pretty much shit. Hes so stupid he doesn't realize what hes doing. I can't believe he said that if they have a good time he'll play it by ear. What a fat F.

Personally, Billy bugs me because he's exactly what I've tried to live my life not to be...
I've always been able to handle being the one everyone laughs at behind my back. I know I'm fat and ugly, but I refuse to go around acting like I'm some kind of "ladies' man" or to go around tooting my own horn about accomplishments that happened so long ago, they're completely irrelevant, and I'm not stupid enough to think that someone else's girl would want me over her boyfriend.
Cad? annoying? asshole? yeah, I personally find Billy to be all these things. Not that it matters, because I'm just a stupid poster on a messageboard, but I know my place and my station in life, and I just feel like billy has deluded himself to the point that nobody will ever take him seriously again, and I think he's lucky he's where he is right now, because without the exposure on the radio, he'd probably be pretty much nothing, sorry to say....
That's my opinion, take it for what it's worth, which isn't much, but that's why I personally cringe whenever I hear his voice coming out of my radio....

I guess some people can't tell the
difference between a radio bit and
reality.
Yes I could have easily said no to
the guy. Billy and I are friendly to
each other, we exchange friendly
emails once in a while, and we
always hang at the gatherings. He
imed me and asked me to dinner
then to the Norton show. Now, I
see nothing wrong with going to a
show/gathering with someone of
the opposite sex, especially if he is
my friend and someone I can
trust. I know Billy is harmless and
he would never do anything
disrespectful to me or Pooter, but
in my opinion, I think dinner one-
to-one is a bit awkward. There's
nothing wrong with it, but to me it
would be awkward. If there was a
little group of us together hanging,
fine that's totally cool. If Billy
never mentioned "dinner", I would
have no problem going and Pooter
wouldn't have any problem with
me going with Billy (only that he'd
want to see the show too).
Despite remarks Billy got from
callers. he's still an ok guy to me
and we'll still be pals............and
that's IT. ;)

I'm guessing I'm just reading that wrong.
If you were implying that I consider EffMe my property, you're sorely mistaken. But I can't blame you for interpreting that from the radio.
I was more upset with Billy for being a sneak about it. He's been after her for a while, saying things behind my back to her that he would never say if I was there, at least not in any serious matter. It's never really bothered me, I'm not that way, but the fact he began the conversation with "Are you and Pooter still together?" I've been hurt in the past by people pretending to be friends going after someone I was with at the time (and Lisa's had that experience to), so I don't think you can hold it against me for reacting the way I did, as silly as I sounded on the radio.
So, please don't imply in the future that I treat my girlfriend like property, if that's what you were getting at. Otherwise, ignore my ramblings.

wow folks...why dont we settle down a bit eh? It was actually a joke but i guess "some people" didnt see that....I believe what I heard on the radio was you calling her your property...i found that amusing....excuse me if I heard wrong.....
and for me not knowing it was a bit? trust me, it was fairly obvious

Well, that was plenty condescending.
If I called her my property, which I don't think I did, I apologize to all women everywhere. Except the french ones.

What's the bit part? The fact that people took the ball-busting to such extremes? I mean, it actually happened that he asked out another man's girlfriend for dinner, a show, and to go see his dead dad. Sure, it's not evil, but it is pretty goddamn goofy...
