Holy Broadway Batsong! 'Batman' heads to Broadway (Agence France-Presse)
The director of the late-1980s film rendition of "Batman," Tim Burton, has agreed to direct a multimillion-dollar Broadway musical based on the caped crusader, The New York Post reported Friday.
According to the Post, the musical's producers, Warner Brothers, have spent the past year courting Burton, who directed the 1989 "Batman" movie and its 1992 sequel, "Batman Returns."
The deal was finally sealed last week, following a series of meetings between Burton, playwright David Ives and composer Jim Steinman.
"We're thrilled he's going to do it," Steinman told the Post.
I can't even start to put into words my level of aggrevation on this one. Has Tim Burton fallen on to such hard times that he needs to sink to this???
