.....whats the difference between them and the Rolling stones or Rush

What does that say about the legion of fans (zombies) they go wild over their new stuff?

GnR, Springsteen, Rush, The Stones, The Who, fucking down to Bon Jovi and Poison and all that crap, NONE of it is relevant.

All these bands have a fan base that will follow what they do, whether it is a shameless money-grab(the who) or the fact that the band members would have to get jobs if they stopped performing(poison).

Take that as you will, but oldies and classic rock stations promote old bands and that is their audience. People afraid of trying anything NEW.

A band does not have to be relevant in Top 20 radio for you to enjoy their music, The Misfits are no longer relevant but I've got all their CDs, and I listen them often. AFI is not relevant in the Top 40 music scene, but they are to me.
It's all about what you draw as a style or a band that you like, if you dig the Who, let them relieve you of some money to watch the living members perform. Hell, I don't care, and i'll go see GNR when they play around here, not because I think their particularly relevant to the music scene i'm into, more for nostalgia purposes.

Music isn't about whether or not someone else likes or respects your music, it's about listening to what you dig, fuck relevance, if we worried about that music would be decided by boardrooms and 50 year old white guys. Figure it this way, unfortunatly to some people, Nsync is more relevant than the Ramones.

I think i just said that relevance is relative.
