Every time I see this documentary, it is chilling.
The abuse the crowd suffers at the hands of Hells Angels "security". They also puch out Marty Balin from Jefferson Airplane, and the looks of hatred they give everyone throughout the film is sickening.
The true end of the "peace and love" sixties. Check it out when you can.

"Gimme Shelter" represented the polar opposite of
Woodstock. It ended the fallacy that we don't need
"the man" or other societal restrictions. Can you
imagine the insane thinking? Let's have a free
concert with 100,000 plus attendees and have
criminals (angles) provide security.

It is a great documentary and I highly recommen

What's everyone's favorite live music DVD's?

I love Radiohead's "Meeting People Is Easy"..."The Last Waltz"...Underworld's "Everything Everything"...Portishead's "PNYC"...and of course, Fugazi's "Instrument"...

It's unfortunate that Altamont had to happen the way it did. The '69 tour marked The Stones' hitting their peak.

I love the part where Keith is listening to the playback of "Wild Horses" which would be on their "upcoming" album Sticky Fingers.

my favorite parts:

The Stones in their trailer unbelievably high.

Mick on stage saying "everybody just chill ou!"

Mick pushing the Hell's Angels around on stage.

The birth of the mosh pit: that one guy rolling around on the grass, bumping into the people sitting quietly on thier blankets.

if you look close, you can see "the 60's" getting stabbed to death by a Hell's Angel

Plus, lets change the venue at the last minute....

Ive got an MP3 of the Stones at the concert, with Mick singing "Under My Thumb" and continually telling people to sit down...

Great movie. It won an Academy Award for best documentary.

Mick Taylor took the band to the next level.

I know this is kinda cliche but I still love "The Song Remains the Same." Page is great.

We want Ron and Fez live in DC.

The scene where they kept rewinding the film in the editing room to the point where Meredith Hunter gets stabbed by the Hells Angel was almost like the Zapruder film of the Kennedy assassination. Mick was such a flower-child pussy asking for love and peace from the crowd. Keith, as always, was the king of cool.

If it's just a lull, why am I bored right out of my skull?

LOL! -- I love that part where Keith is just playing away on his guitar and Mick is yelling at him "Keith! Keith! KEEEEEEEEIIITH!!! COOL IT!!!"
