Hmmm, the reporter he beat up works for a cable tv station based in Pinellis Park. You think Fez might bring this up on those new Fez-i-somethings he's doing?

That happened in 2000. Anyways she deserved it as it was a crowded parking lot, no way can she stand there and save the space.

So he's allowed to hit people with his car? He's just another one of those smug reporters who feels that he can look down on the rest of society. I wonder if he's writing a book...that seems like the popular thing to do.

Because books were so unpopular until now.

What, you didn't get the memo? That's what you get for fucking up all those TS reports...

Okey, let me explain my comment to you, because obviously you don't seem to understand it.
Most newscasters, until recently, didn't find the need to try and make themselves more important than the news that they report.
For example, Sean Hannity (sp?), on Fox News, who finds the need to push his book constantly in between his biased and ignorant opinions. He also tries to act as if he's much better or intelligent than anyone that he interviews whose opinion he disagrees with.
Furthermore, he finds the need to talk more than anyone he interviews and try to make his opinion more important and valid than anyone else's, rather than trying to make a balanced opinion based on differing viewpoints.
Reporters writing books about how smart they are is the first sign of this smug "I'm more important than the news I'm reporting" theme that many reporters seem to support.
Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, but I find that Fox News reporters are the biggest culprit of this brand of journalism.
I hope that clears up the comment for you NY, because you were a bit confused by it.

I'll be all condescending here and just throw out my own editorial opinion that, if Shepard didn't work for THAT news channel or have THOSE policital beliefs, Sunny probably wouldn't have a problem with him or this story.

Am I the only person that doesn't want all these goddamn editorials on TV news? Fox and CNN, MSNBC, whatever, just shut the fuck up and report the news. Slant it "left" or "right", I don't give a shit, just plug up your holes and tell me what the hell is going on!
Hence why I'll stick with BBC News.

Am I the only person that doesn't want all these goddamn editorials on TV news? I think that it's unavoidable...all people have opinions/biases, and we'd have to be nieve to believe that it has not, does not, or won't impact what's on the news. For fun, try flipping back and forth between Fox news and MSNBC. Check out what's covered and, more importantly, what's omitted. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, but I find that Fox News reporters are the biggest culprit of this brand of journalism. sunny, did you follow the controversy with how Kissinger's take on Iraq was spun a full 180*? Fox has nothing on the 'newspaper of record', the New York Times. <P>

While I agree that most FNC anchors paint themselves as celebrities, anchors on every other network do it too.

No, if he was a 100% liberal slanted reporter, and he hit a person a parking lot, I would have a problem with that too. His political beliefs don't have anything to do with the pure stupidity of trying to run over someone in a parking lot, no matter how few parking spaces there are.
And there are those on Fox News who I do respect, and whose opinions are completely valid as well.
I am amused that people (including yourself Se7en)think that I'm a hard core liberal because I disagree with right wing fanatics and think that people should question government. Apparently trying to be unbiased means I'm a liberal...hmm.

Oh by far Fox News isn't the only culprit of this brand of journalism. Don't forget the Washington Post either for biased reporting. All I want is some unbiased viewpoints, not slanted to the left or right...just well thought out.

I absolutely agree, whether they're slanted to the left or right. They're all bastards.

Actually, I think it has more to do with the fact that every time you bash someone for being "unbiased".....it's a conservative / Republican. Fox News, in particular.
With the OCCASIONAL caveat of, "Oh, there are some liberals which are unbiased too". Of course, you don't name names like you do....with Fox News. (Unless I should take your remark about the Washington Post as evidence. And hey, really going out on a limb there - saying the Post is biased. Really? SHOCKING.)
I don't necessarily think you're a liberal.
You just bash conservatives a lot. Or so it seems.

You are partly right about that, mainly because I feel that Fox News is the Conservative Defense Network, and has definitely become my whipping boy for horribly biased right wing news, just as the Post is the opposite for liberals.
But Bill O'Reilly, as frustrating as he can be, is someone who I enjoy watching because I don't think he's as biased as many, and while he does push his views on us, he does it in a more tolerable way, even though his talking points take all the effort out of independent thought.
With the OCCASIONAL caveat of, "Oh, there are some liberals which are unbiased too". Of course, you don't name names like you do....with Fox News. (Unless I should take your remark about the Washington Post as evidence...
I didn't name any names, so I don't quite understand what your saying here. I didn't start up a thread about Shepherd Smith, but rather posted to one. Nor did I post anything in regards to anyone else on Fox News, besides a campaign finance reform post about the Prez I made recently.
So I'm not going out of my way to bash conservatives...please feel free to give me examples of times I have if you really want to get into a horribly boring debate about that.
If someone posts a thread about a horribly biased liberal reporter, I will gladly take up the charge to bash them for their biased brand of journalism. Feel free to post about them too if you'd like, and then we could all rejoice in our bashing of politicians.
And hey, really going out on a limb there - saying the Post is biased. Really? SHOCKING.)
When did I say that I was planning on breaking new ground by saying that? When did I say that this was going to be shocking news to everyone? When did I say to everyone "listen to me, this is surprising commentary!"
That's right, I didn't.
I don't consider anything that I posted in this thread to require a brain surgeon to comprehend and agree/disagree with. It's all actually quite obvious, in my opinion. You said that it's no big deal to say that the post is liberal...well I feel the same way about saying that fox news is conservative...it's pretty obvious, but that doesn't make it any less valid a topic for discussion or debate.
I didn't realize I was supposed to break new ground and be shocking with every post I made. I suppose I should critique all of your posts for new information and shocking viewpoints.
I do bash conservatives...but I also bash liberals...and idiots. Mainly because all 3 have been annoying me a lot lately. Perhaps conservatives have the edge right now. Honestly, I don't keep track.
But I don't think it's way off the wall to say that running over someone in a parking lot is bad.
And I don't think it's an awfully good practice to have a smug superior attitude and push your new book in between news stories. You kind of lose respect that way.
But that's just my opinion. Sorry if it's obvious to everyone.
