Remeber when HBO and Showtime used to show movies?

Every time I come home from work/going out, it's nothing but "original series" any more. HBO has Sex and the City and The Sopranos, and Showtime has too many of them to count.

Cable where I live only has one Showtime channel and like every time I turn it on, it's Street Time/Queer As Folk/Resurrection Blvd./Odyssey 5, etc.

I guess they stopped showing movies at prime time when MTV stopped showing music videos...

Get digital cable or sattelite. Their are at least six HBO's.

Digital Cable isn't available in our area yet. And I'm not allowed to put a dish on the building at my condo (I've heard of ways around this, but I don't want to risk it).....

HBO is really pushing to turn HBO itself into mostly original programming...in-house films, documentaries, comedy specials, mini-series, and regular series. They own Cinemax, which is what they now use as the "all movie, all the time" outlet, and I think they possibly own a part of Showtime as well. Starz and Encore are easily the best premium channels for movies...and you can't beat AMC, TCM, IFC and the Sundance Channel...shit, the original programming is the ONLY reason I have HBO...
