Just picked up a copy. Pure video gaming joy. Pick it up yourself. And if you don't have a GameCube, shame on you.

I don't have the Gamecube, but I've been tempted because of that Star Wars game and Super Monkey Ball...Why the hell didn't Nintendo release the DVD version of the Gamecube in the US (like they did in Japan - it's a special edition one made by another manufacturer)?

You're talking about the Panasonic Q. That's Panasonic's decision. Personally, I don't think it'd fly here in the US. Too expensive. The GameCube is all about the games anyway. A lot of people in the US already own a DVD. And I'd venture to say that most PS2 owners had a DVD player prior to buying a PS2. Same goes for X BOX. It helps keep the price down for Nintendo, lose less money on each system produced, and gives them a bit of a competitive edge.

I picked up Mario Sunshine this morning and i tell ya its the most fun i've had playing video games since Mario 64. This water pack makes the game so much enjoyable. I've been playing for 4 hours straight and i can't get enough of it. Best Next Gen game already in my book.

When i first heard of the game and the water pack, i was a little shaky about it. I used to think that a water pack would take away something from the game. But the other day i played Sunshine in Walmart and holy crap! this game is so awesome, im gonna beg my mom to buy it for me tommorrow. MARIO RULES!

I haven't tried this Monkey Ball thing. I sucked at Marble Madness. And I'm not too big on monkeys. But monkeys in balls. . . hmm. . .could be interesting.

i JUST bought a copy of this game like 4 hours ago. But I needed to finish my resume, and then I wanted to post.
Now that you've all said it rules, I'm starting to think I better log out, and turn on Mario.
I can wait.

I'd be playing it now, if it weren't for one thing. My TV is in a closet, so I don't have much room. 25 inches, and I'm two feet away. Ohhh. . . I'm dizzy. And I'm on the computer, so I'm retarded, too.

I didn't realise it was out already. Shit I am sooo broke I really can't afford it, but you guys are breaking my will. It sounds like the coolest thing ever, I want it so bad. I'm starting to whine.

The GameCube is all about the games anyway. A lot of people in the US already own a DVD. And I'd venture to say that most PS2 owners had a DVD player prior to buying a PS2.
Actually, there were two reasons I got the PS2. The first was backward compatibility with PS1 games. The other was the fact that it played DVD's. The way I see it is, you'll only use the TV for one purpose at a time (watch TV, record shows, or play games) so why not save space with one unit to do multiple functions? But I have to give Nintendo props on system power. Already it's been shown that the machine can pump out great graphics that surpass the PS2's power. The real question is if they can be profitable as the number 2 player in console hardware. But I have drifted from the subject...
Mario looks great, and I haven't heard anything bad about it. Nintendo has a great franchise on their hands. You should check out the book "The First Quarter" by Steven Kent. There is some fascinating Nintendo history in there, like how they started out making playing cards in the 1800's...

I've already got a DVD player, and there are only a few PS2 games that I think I'd have to own (but no funds-- I started the thing on Kingdom Hearts, that looks absolutely fantastic). The GameCube I bought because I love the Nintendo games, I only owned a few games on the 64, but to me those were the greatest games ever--especially Zelda. And your right, the history stuff is pretty interesting, especially how Sony got screwed over by Nintendo (no one is perfect) and had to make the Nintendo peripheral--Play Station Experiment) by itself.
Grr. . .stupid Nintendo move.
Anyway, back to subject, Mario is a great game, but can be very tough, but always fun.

I finally got Super Mario Sunshine today at about 2:00. and right now I just took my first break. WHAT A GREAT GAME!! I thought it was gonna be more directed to kids but even I, at 14, found it fun. If I just had a mini-fridge and a bathroom in my bedroom, I would never leave. Now good bye again, Im off to play some more Mario! <P>
