My wife drags me up there every year. We went on Sunday and it was packed!

Now, once I'm there I have a good time(after sitting in traffic, walking a mile from the parking area, standing on line to get in and finally getting to take a piss). But holy shit, everything had a line in front of it! Even the lamest little stands were crowded because there was no room in the good ones.

After drinking many beers and some quick joints in the woods, it was time to see some of the acts. I have seen some great jugglers and stuff over the years but there was nothing this year. The worst was a ventriloquist act called "Ded Bob". After the first joke we wanted out but were trapped in our seats due to the crowd. It was torture. His begging for cash was despicable.

I would still go again next year though. It's stupid fun. There's good food, plenty of drink and an overall sense of "chivalry" that's missing in society.

I went to the one in Maryland a couple of years ago. "Stupid fun" sums it up perfectly. It was a pretty good time.

I went to the one upstate a couple of weeks ago for my birthday. It wasn't nearly as crowded as I thought it would be, and there were barely any lines for anything. I did see that "Dead Bob" skit and I saw the mud games. Apparently, after every skit like that, they beg for money. The key is sitting towards the end of the row if possible or just getting up and leaving. For what they charge to get in and then for food, drink, etc..none of these acts were worth paying more money for.

I go once or twice every year to the one in Sterling Forest. Yeah, there's a lot of ppl, but there's always room to move around. I usually only tip the beer and food wenches. mmm... wenches... but mainly b/c I tend to stay away from those shows. My only complaint is lack of shade at the chess board.

i went for the first time last year. i did enjoy myself, although it was 100 degrees outside and no shade, and a girl that was with our group spent the whole time bitching and moaning about wanting to leave.
i'm going again on Sept 14...can't wait! i think i may dress up this time, too

Jousting rules

Sheepy, you should move to Maryland. Jousting is the state's official sport.

Sorry, I'll sit down now.

My first time there was last year, around the end of September. It was cool but you so much hyper actors that it kind of pisses you off. The best thing that I found from the fair is that some women wear those tight tops and their tits just pop out. If you've been to buy a beer, you've seen the hostesses there...lol

The best time to go though is for Halloween. They have kick ass some to check out and the haunted place is big and kicks ass.

I am heading for the Faire this weekend, Saturday I think. Sunday there's an anime convention in the city...I'm almost afraid to see what they will have there!

I have always enjoyed going to the Faire. Sure, there's traffic and lots of people, but that's what keeps it going on. Instant Shakespeare is about the consistently best thing there. I like the Living Chess, but over the years the fights have slid down in quality and style. Although they still do many funny references, it's not as good as it was. The Birds of Prey show is worth staying and seeing.

Last year there was a cool act at the Shakespeare theater. The guy did the act completely silent, and what started as an act that was losing the crowd became one that was really riveting. I wonder if he was there again this year.

I also miss the Flaming Idiots. They were hilarious!

Now I'm starving

What are they gonna do now?
