Where is the best pizza?

I just had a slice of "pizza" at Villanova in the Italian Kitchen of all places here and it SUCKED. Aweful! In fact, most places in and around Philadelphia (not counting South Street) have suck ass pizza. Where can I go to get a half decent pie in the tri-state area? I prefer 3 Brothers from Italy down at Belmar Beach personally.

The best college area pizza has to be El Greco's in South Orange (possibly Maplewood). When I went to Seton Hall, that was a Thursday night must have after a night out at the South Orange Ave. bars.

Any of the Ray's, Original Ray's, Ray's Originals are usually good. Two Boots is really good (and often deliver to the show).

You can't get really good pizza outside the tri-state area. I've had Philly pizza. I've travelled a bit and tried pizza. You just can't do it.

Almost any pizza not made by the national chains in Penn Station kicks fucking ass!

The slices are very large and can almost be a full meal.

Honestly any pizza made in manhattan not made by national chains are great!

Vincent's Pizzaria Cliffside Park NJ



I grew up on this pizza. Trust me. It is way overrated. They get mentioned in the Bergen Record in '84 and since then, people have put them on this crazy pedistal. Sal's in Cliffside Park is much better.

But, for the best I've had...

Ridgedale Pizza in Cedar Knolls...The first time I had a slice brought me back to when I was a kid.

Mario's Famous in Bloomfield...I just recently discovered this place while passing thru. The best slice I've had in years.

Mike's on Bedford Park Boulevard in the Bronx...Mike makes a round Sicilian pie that is out of this world. It's actually Chicago-style, but he's the master, let him call it whatever he wants. You've got to see this guy work. I've never seen any pizza man so into making a pie. And constantly barking, "New Sicilian in 3 minutes...best Sicilian you'll ever eat!!!"

Heckler has it right!! Spumoni Gardens also known as L&B's is the best pizza and hot heroes. They are realy known for there great square slices. I live around the corner from there so maybe i'll see one you there.

Theres only one good place to find the best pizza....any pizza shop on any Jersey boardwalk. Ive been to about every boardwalk in New Jersey and never bought a peice of pizza i thought was bad.

Outside of New Jersey, do any other state boardwalks have great pizza?
