Enough pouting and goodbyes, it's time for us to Save Ron and Fez

One thing has been made clear in the last week, and that's that a whole lotta people love Ron and Fez. And while O and A were ok, the time for crying in that beer is over. Ron and Fez have their shot, maybe their only shot at NYC afternoon drive. We can't hit this with a whimper, whining about, quite frankly, a weaker radio show in O and A. We've got to send these guys roaring into the biggest shift of their lives. If you are like me, you've been talking Ron and Fez up to your friends for months. Well, I say lets kick it into overdrive and save WNEW talk. We aren't promised an all talk Ron and Fez, even if they stay in NY, no matter what happens, but if we can keep them on the air. We've got to make sure their ratings are up, so the time is now. Infinity won't advertise, Ron and Fez are lame ducks? Bullshit to all that, lets get the buzz out there, because NY/NJ and CT deserve to know what they've got. By any means necessary, spread the good word. Message boards, spray paint, word of mouth, fucking makeshift bumper stickers, whatever it takes. We NEED Ron and Fez, and if we want to save them, it's up to us. Who's with me, and who's got ideas about how we can get the word out to keep this show running.

A. Ron and Fez and O&A were friends and I never compared the shows they were both good. <P>
B. Ron and Fez will do fine in the midday slot, the have done Mornings, middays, afternoons, nights, and late nights and have always come out on top. <P>
C. the station isn't going to music, the FCC has dropped the investigation and Infinity wants it to stay talk. (If they wanted it to go to music. They would not have changed Ron and Fez's timeslot and keep Ferrall, Lovelines and Leykis. <P>

In the end it doesn't even matter...

You don't know how many people i have turned onto Ron and Fez. plus i have gotten 3 of those people to love RnF so much they joined the board.

And what is there really to save at WNEW? Ron and Fez are the show! Ferall can hold his own, but Leykis and Love Line will just drag WNEW down further. you have 2 shows out of 6 slots that are worth anything.

Mornings (6am - 10am) Ferral
Middays (10am - 2pm) ?
Afternoon Drive (2pm - 6pm) Ron and Fez
Nights (6pm - 10pm) Leykis
Late Nights (10pm - 2am) Love Line
Early Morning (2am - 6am) Love Line.

I have to say primates could make a better schedual. And with a line up like that. . . you only listen from 6am - 6pm, if the upcoming midday show is good. otherwise its 8 hours of good radio, if you like sports, 4 if you don't. WNEW is a sinking ship. I haope RnF and Ferral know where the life rafts are.

O&A are gonna be fine. They have too much to offer to not get picked up again. Right now, its time to keep R&F at the top of the game. At least most O&A fans are R&F fans, so there wont be the usual, "You suck, bring back O&A".

Nature Boy is Right. We need to do what ever we can to do
to keep R and F on. Frankly without O and A the impetus to keep the Station all Talk. I could easily see those programing jerks putting R and F on a Chick on Q type show, with the occational comedy sandwiched between boring music cuts. Ugh.
One thing we can do that would
have an effect is to patronize
their advertisers and let those advertisers know where we heard about them.

ron and fez will succeed. they always have they always will. i though still prefer them in their old time slot. but theyre good. wnew will have to sign some impressive talent. because ferral and ron and fez cannot carry the station. if i was them bring back the chik and give her ron and fez's replay spot. and replay ron anf fez late night, instead of the second love lines.

I might be wrong about this. But The next ratings book will reflect O&A. It's going to take awhile for it to show R&F's true numbers. And do we have that much time?
By the way has anyone or anyone that your know ever got a Arbitron ratings thing to fill out?

I love Ron and Fez as much as the next guy. But the present task is a difficult one. When D&M moved to mid-days, it was part of Infinity's plan to sell the 2 shows and Stern as an FM Talk format. WNEW tried D&M and it failed.

Now, WNEW will have to try the FM Talk format without Stern OR Opie and Anthony. That's a tough task. I just hope that in the event that the worst case scenario becomes reality, the R&F get the call up to KRock nights.

What can we do? Tell a firend or 2. Get them to listen.
