Man waiting to see if giant rubber ball will bounce

A Welshman is waiting to see if his giant ball made of rubber bands will bounce when it's dropped into the Grand Canyon.

Tony Evans has spent five years making the ball which contains six million bits of elastic donated by people across the UK. It weighs 1.12 tons.

It's due to be dropped from a US Army helicopter in a stunt arranged by American TV show Ripley's Believe It Or Not.

Retired Tony, 62, of Portmead, Swansea, told the News of the World : "I'm not sure if it will bounce or just fall apart."

The show is due to be screened in the UK next year.
