As for the DC listeners, here's maybe a glimmer of hope -- if the Rutger Howard segment was being replayed, isn't Anthony in that break? Now I don't know how WJFK operates, but once someone is gone from WNEW (with a few exceptions) their voices cannot be heard on the station again. And now that O&A are gone, Anthony's voice can't be heard. So the board-op must have just found out the news, or dumped out by going to commercial once hearing his voice.

Just trying to make some DC listeners feel better. Keep hope alive!

does anyone have a show recap? i've read through most of the board & can't seem to find one. it would be great for the dc listeners to have a solid recap for the shows. i know we would do it if new york lost the show. anyone?

I actually got an answer. I asked the guy why R&F weren't on and he said, "There was a programming change."

I said, "So they aren't going to be carried anymore?"

He said, "I don't think they've made a decision yet."

The guy was REALLY nice and offered the business line number for me to call on monday. So don't harrass the guy, he's cool.

I just don't see whats wrong with Ron and Fez being live in DC. Doesn't WJFK see that Ron and Fez have great ratings? They have 14 hours of Don and Mike they can afford to loose 4 of those hours to Ron and Fez. I'm calling into WJFK tomorrow and getting my knowledge all straigtend out. I just wish I could hear what O & A or Ron and Fez have to say about all of this.

A couple of things I have wanted to get of my chest for years now, and just haven't spent the time to share. Not that this will enlighten anyone, I did want to finally share my views. <P>
First off, the "O&A Situation" absolutely sucks... I miss "the boys" already. Although they merely suggested "a church" as a location for the 'Sex for Sam' contest, they did not do anything more than that. Even after the Washington couple was arrested, they encouraged the other couples not to talk about it. Yeah, the "church location" was suggested, but really it came down to the discretion of the couples. Why fire them then?!? An easy target for the FCC and the Catholic Church? I agree that St. Pat's wasn't the best location for that, but *the couple* decided to go there, and the guy from Virginia decided to spout off his big mouth. They could have just walked away if that a-hole didn't have such a big mouth. Of course, as Op mentioned during the show, it probably didn't help that it was a holy day in the Catholic Church.

Okay, my views on Don and Mike.. I have listened to them for years now, and I happen to like listening to them. Are they as good as O&A? No... I don't think so. Not even close. Did I hate/resent O&A when they first came to DC and D&M was played in NYC? Damn right I did. But, as my listening to O&A increased, I really started to love O&A. Yes, now I do enjoy listening to Op and Ant much better than Don and Mike. Maybe because I have been a New York resident for 27 years, and just moved down to DC, or because Don and Mike changed a time slot that was absolutely terrible, and their humor just isn't there. O&A has a much fresher sound to them, and caters to me much better. (I'm 29, and I even listened to Opie in Buffalo on 97 Rock.) Simply put, O&A are more my style, but it took me months to come to that realization.

When O&A and D&M had the few days of brawls, I stuck up for D&M. But, I have to admit, when Don called the O&A show, it did sound like a pathetic man, looking for sympathy. Ever since that day, I have loved O&A. Much more than my love for D&M.

As for Ron & Fez, these guys rock. They are funny as hell. I really enjoy listening to them, even if it is against my wishes (on tape delay in DC.) The sad part is, the Sports Junkies on WJFK suck. They are okay when they have a good show, but when they have a bad show (which is quite frequent), they are completely awful. I'd much rather have Ron & Fez on the radio live at that time.

The Junkies don't suck at all. They are the best show JFK has ight now after losing O&A. You can dis Don and Mike, byut don't dis the Junkies. I love the show and have been listening for years, and they don't even come close to sucking. <P>

It gets boring to hear about them talking about events in sports that happened months ago.

So, does this mean D&M are staying at WJFK? They've been hinting (When they're not on break...guys take more vacations than the fucking President) that once the contract is up next year, they're gone...now, they've pulled shit like this before just to get fatter deals, but with the whole O&A deal, it really sounded like Don wanted to bail...but NOW the fat little bastard might have no problem staying...AND they'll probably be back on drive-time here...the whole deal with the midday move was so that they could have a shot at New York and so O&A could have a chance at breaking DC...since neither of those things are happening, what's to stop them from sliding back to where they were? Blaaaaaaaargh...

I was never aware that Ron and Fez could be heard in Washington. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention. Were they ever on the air in Boston? I ask only because I'm a freshman at BC, and it'd be awesome if I could get my R&F fix at school. All that being said, we're all lucky we can still hear them in New York.If anyone can help me out with that, it'd be great.

Fuck the FCC, and Fuck Don and Mike. If your gonna fire O+A, just atleast put on live R+F for us.

Id say DC has the most loyal listeners of R+F, but thats going to far. But we are all loyal, and every night we break fatigue to listen to our favorite radio show. And now its gone, its gone like a virgin on prom night.
