Anti-War groups have for some reason assemled in a park next town over from the town in which i live. They carry signs saying things such as- Eye for an eye is for the weak-Make peace not war-Killers of the innocent- God used to bless America- In any event, one day I completely lost it and in a fit of rage exchanged words with two of the "students"... I don't feel groups such as these should be allowed to assemled outside in a public forum and preach their nonsense- Don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however, I, for some reason take it to be disrespectful. Am I wrong for wanting to choke these individuals? I consider myself to be a very open person and I'm wondering why I have these feelings... I don't know, I suppose I'd like to hear from others who may or may not feel the same.

I don't know about disrespectful, but stupid. It's an ideal to be able to have peace and be pacificists, but it's not possible. The only thing that the countries opposing us respect is a show of force. If they attack, and we just sit there and take it, then they will continue to do it with impunity. To them we are western devils who need to convert or die in the jihads. To die killing "heathens" is considered a one way ticket to heaven for them.
The reason a country like switzerland is able to survive through nutrality is because they are surrounded by mountains, making an attack almost impossible to begin with.

Being the nation's captiol, there are all kinds of protestors down here. I just got this announcement a little while ago and have THIS to look forward to this weekend:
There will be a large Neo-Nazi/Skinhead protest on the west side of the U.S. Capitol this Saturday, 24 Aug 02, sponsored by the National Alliance. Representatives from approximately 22 groups are expected to attend. During past protests, the group has numbered at around 400 participants.
The likelihood of a counter-demonstration is extremely high. The groups expected to participate in the counter-demonstration include Anarchists and radical anti-racist groups. Their numbers could amount to well over 1,000. Criminal acts anticipated include incendiary devices, property damage and direct confrontation with law enforcement. Violence between the groups is also expected.
There will be a National Alliance pre-rally meeting at Union Station from 0945 to 1045. The group will then march to the US Capitol for the actual protest (1100-1300). After the protest, the group will depart for a White Power Concert in Baltimore, MD (NFI).

As long as they're peaceful, they have a right to protest, however stupid, ugly or disrespectful. Skinheads, peaceniks, NAMBL sickos, anyone. Deny them this right and you potentially deny yourself the same privilege tomorrow.

Ice Cream you are among the many with what you are thinking. On 9/12 my friend (a NYPD officer) had to police escort a bunch of peace protesters. They were marching down 3rd avenue or something like that.put it this way, there were enough of them that they needed police protection. Anyway, they started in with him and were bashing the NYPD, so my friend turned around ad told them "Instead of being here complaining and whining like babies you could do everybody a favor and go home. As far as I'm concerned YOU are murders. I could be down there helping to find people but instead I am here babysitting you guys." Well a "gay" protester then got in his face with his "I'm a taxpaying citizen and you work for me, this is our right to say what we want to say" crap.

With that, my friend wanted to shoot every one of them. He told me that he mentally counted his bullets and seriously thought of it.

So as far as protesters are concerned. They are a bunch of do nothing losers. And since most of them, while not protesting, are sitting in Starbuck's with bad facial hair plotting their next move, should probably pick up a job application and help better society. At least this way I'll have hot coffee and a quiet street to walk down while drinking it.

It's real easy to hate assholes like this because if we ever DO get into a protracted war with high U.S. casualties, they will be the first ones running.
But I also wonder, are the young people today ready to sacrifice themselves for a war they don't really know where the end lies?
This generation has not faced a war with heavy casualties or a draft. What the fuck would happen if that was brought back?
Just wondering.

I am, that's why on december 2, I make my trip to Parris Island. I understand how you feel ICG, but just remember, these are people who think they are intelligent with zero life experience and a world of hurt coming their way. I'd be pissed if I ran into them too.

unfortunately its their constitutional right to protest, just like it was our right to protest for O&A.
however these people want a peace that cannot be had in todays society.
to sum it up, i'll quote an anime i once watched...
"if love can kill people, then hatred can same them"
ponder that

It's a sickness that spreads accross the surface of our nation befift of leadership and adrift in a sea of bipartism politics which at best merely hinders accomplishing anything significant.
The overwhelming majority of these protesters are kids in their twenties who sorely lack an understanding of the need to take a stand and protect the way of life we hold dear, lest it perish forever. I can guarantee they wouldn't be protesting in an moslem controlled country.

all your base are belong to us.. sorry.. just had to...
anyway... i really can't stand peace-loving hippies most of the time. if we don't defend our rights and our way of life, we soon won't have it. they should be thankful that there are people out there that are willing to risk their lives just to make THEIR lives better.
... look what i just done said ...

"No life-experince"...so people sitting on thier butts at home clamoring for war apparenty know-all and tell-all? Please. People are entitled to their opinion, whatever it may be, and it's a freedom like THAT that infuriates the terrorists to begin with. Oppose that liberty, and you're starting to share some pretty ugly company...
