If so, I hated you. I was to tall (even at that young age) to ride one of those bad boys.

I had a Green Machine myself. It was better for a kid with longer legs. You should've had one.

I had a black knight rider one. In retro spect it didn't make much sense - I mean kit was a car not a bike. WTF.

What was phat though was those battery powered cars you could ride in. I had Big Foot. It was sweet as hell until I became a fat lazy ass kid and burnt the motor out riding it.

I had a G.I. Joe one and it fucking rocked. I used to ride it down the stairs.

Hell yeah, they rocked! I can remember getting it up to top speed, stopping the front wheel short, and spinning into piles of dirt, rocks or just wiping out.

TJ; alas I was also too tall for the Big Wheel and many kid toys. I was almost 2 feet tall and a shade under 10 pounds at birth, so I couldnt even fit into the plastic thing they put the new babies in, my parents said my feet hung over the side.

Oh, to sleep in a bed long enough for me. Never happened. Ever. I want a Hefner Bed.

This thread is quite old, so the picture could have been moved or deleted, which is most likely what happened.

I don't think I ever had a bigwheel. It was that I was too big, though. I just never had one.

When did they double the back wheel up? Its either for wannnabe truckers or there really is a childhood obesity epidemic.

On a side note, I once got a new big wheel for a present and it had this sweet brake that went on the handlebars. Before i even put it on, my "friend" took it from me and threw it down the sewer (aka tennis ball eater). I remember the feeling of "there is no way he just did that, there is no way that brake is gone" Man that sucked.

I think that particular big wheel is the adult version, which would require four wheels in order to support an adult's expanded posterior.

Never had a Big Wheel.
We lived at the bottom of a long hill and Saturday morning, starting about 7:30 am, the lil' bastards would start riding down that hill, ruining it for me as I tried to sleep in.
As soon as I got my learner's permit, I went out there when some of those things were left unattended and "accidently" drove over a couple of them in my dad's 1969 Chrysler Imperial.

I had a Big Wheel and then The Green Machine.

Loved them both, but as a kid in Indiana growing up with the Indianapolis 500 just an hour or two down the road, The Green Machine was tops. And you could do some serious spin outs.
