Yea, I'm with HOSP. Hogan could have been the second coming of Christ, but he would NOT have gone world wide like he did if not fo Vince's promotion, and TV shows.

First of all, in Hogan's day, most wrestlers got into the business either because they wanted to be football players and got hurt, or they wanted to be actors and weren't good enough...

I'd like you to tell me who, besides hogan's buddies get into wrestling emulating hogan's style? which by the way is as follows...

punches to the head agains the turnbuckle (everybody, count!)...
shake and twitch like a moron while the opponent feebly makes contact with your back with his forearm...
three punches, raises leg for a boot, raises leg again and falls on opponent....

listen, anyone could have filled his shoes, anyone can play mister goody 2-shoes, Reagan did it for 8 years, and it was during this time of gullibility that everyone just loved hogan.... well, since then the curtain has been pulled back, and Hogan went on to beleive his own hype and Destroy WCW (NWA, whatever it could be called after Crocket sold out)

He ruined the careers of both Bret Hart and Sting, who had more athletic ability in their pinky toes then 10 full Hulk Hogans...

as for who made wrestling the way it is today? for that I give credit to two people:
Steve Austin, who played the stalking, antisocial, sociopath introvert perfectly to the point it pulled WWF out of the mire it was in when it was being beaten in the ratings;
Paul Heyman, who developed a forum for a style that both federations copied, and made most of the wrestlers, that paul First gave national US exposure to, big stars.

So don't give me this Hogan crap, the man hasn't changed his style in 20 years, when he entered the sport at a spry 35.... freak....

I realize what Hulk Hogan did for wrestling and I respect him for that. Without him wrestling might now be around now and if it was it would be NO WHERE NEAR AS BIG AS IT IS. That or you're just plain nuts, as for all of us watching "Saturday Night's Main Event" that was Hogan's show, they stopped it when he left, so Hogan was the whole reason they even Aired SNME, which paled in comparison to the old Sat. Night NWA shows, before Hogan ruined those....

and the reason Hogan was the biggest draw was because he didn't let anyone else do it, his "me, me, me" attitude kept Macho Man, The Warrior, The Undertaker, Steamboat, Bret Hart and countless others from having their own places in the sun. Andre pased the torch to him, and Hogan extinguished it, never to see light again.

I'll say once again that I respect Hogan for what he did. I also realize that the WWE is doing poorly in ratings and Hogan is selling a lot of tickets. But Vince needs to use him in a different way.

He never wrestles (though thats a good thing), we just hear the same old speech 20 f'n minute speech every week.

Oh, please. WCW would have made the NWO the biggest storyline to ever come out of wrestling, regardless. Hogan knew this and he wanted to be part of the "biggest" storyline, so all his dead weight got lumped on to the rest of them.
