Okay, Ron and Fez concur on "Patches" by Clarence Carter. I lean to "Son Of A Preacherman" by Dusty Springfield.
I also love "McArthur Park" by Richard Harris.
Nominations please!

The Beatles' version of "Twist and Shout." Do I need to break out my "Ferris Bueler's Day Off" tape?
"Sure, radio had a simple dignity. But people wanted to see the grieving families. And, as usual, technology refused to be dignity's bitch."
---'The Daily Show' on the advent of television
Oh, by the way, which one's pinky?

I am ashamed to admit that I had the 45, along with "Winchester Cathedral", "Born Free" and the really awful "Popcorn". Let's get back to the good stuff. Remember "Double Shot Of My Baby's Love"? Now THAT was a clasic!

Remember "Double Shot Of My Baby's Love"?
By the Swinging Medallions?
Motown may be the source of the "greatest pop song." The Four Tops "Reach Out I'll Be There" perhaps?

The Beatles' version of "Twist and Shout."
I consider that to be one of the greates songs, pop or anything else, to be recorded. As far as Beatles pop goes, I would take 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand', pure bubblegum.
