I know this is stupid, but have to try. Help me ....
This is what I got so far...
Afternoon everyone, I'm sure you'll agree that this has been great wedding celebration, but every silver lining has a cloud, and that's because you now have to listen to me!!!.
Since I'm not much of a speechwriter, and I live in the technology age, of course I did what EVERYONE else is doing. I went online and I found a really nice speech from a past wedding. So I've decided to read it and substitute the names. Forgive me if my reading is a bit choppy. I've never taken a public speaking class. So here it goes.
. To my brother, Anthony.. and his lovely new wife. Melissa., I hope this day has been the best of both your lives .excepting only the future birth of little Anthony Jr.

*stares*

Well, this is obviously a lie, right? Because if it were the truth, you wouldn't need to ask us for help. ;P

I can't write your speech for you, but I have a few quick recommendations:

1. Speak from the heart.

2. DON'T use note cards. It's someone's wedding, not your inaugural address.

3. Say something sweet, but not stupid.

4. Don't embarass the groom.

5. Everyone's just waiting for the champagne toast. Anything past three minutes is FAR too long. Keep it short.

Oh, and #6.... no wordy introductions about what a bad speaker you are. Nobody cares. Just say hey, Anthony's a great guy, a wonderful brother, my best friend. Melissa is an amazing woman, so beautiful, just perfect for him. I'm so happy for both of you - you were made for each other - and on behalf of everyone here tonight, I just want to say, congratulations.

Or something like that. :)

something relevant about the 2 of them helps - the last couple I heard had NOTHING to do with either of them

One of my friends was best man at his brothers wedding. For the speech, he told a little anecdotal story about the couple, one that was a little humorous, a little endearing, and that demonstrated the couples devotion to eachother. I thought that was a nice way to do it.

Why don't you give Him a little speech BEFORE the wedding about how she'll gain 60 pounds in the first 3 years, bang some guy, and get half his shit in the divorce.
After that reality check, you won't have to worry about the other speech.

can't be too helpful...
see below...
when i was Best Man about 5 years ago I read my speech from a piece of paper and what i said was
" i'm reading my speech from this paper because if I tried to recite it from memory I would trip over my words more than Gerald Ford tripped getting out of airplanes"
a bit outdated wouldn't you say
my first failure at standup

The line I came up with at my brother's wedding is that throughout the years, my brother and I called each other a variety of names.
But tonight, I'm happy enough to call him a friend.
Insert "Awwww" from the crowd here. I swear to god, if it was a Simpsons episode, it would be "Bart's People..."

Tenbats, I said essentially the same thing at my bro's wedding. Not a dry eye in the house.

Tomorrow is the night here is what I'm going to say... thx everyone for ur help.
Anthony's a great guy, a wonderful brother, my best friend. Melissa is an amazing woman, so beautiful, just perfect for him. I'm so happy for both of you - you were made for each other - and on behalf of everyone here tonight, I just want to say, congratulations.
So now lets all lift our glasses to salute this wonderful day. This is to Anthony and Melissa, may they live happily ever after.
Should I say anything else?
