Have you ever noticed how much there is going on at any given time of the day? But perhaps the best time is the night time. The Wee Hours of the morning. Nothing to do cause its 3AM and your train leaves at 5AM. For instance, look over there in the far coner, why there's a guy who apparently had way to much to drink and is now spread out next to the giant columns sleeping, with a Kick me sign on him. Moving on, you look over to your left and along comes a homeless man with a nice shiny trumpet in him mouth, but there's No noise coming out of it. You watch him as he walks up and down penn station making believe he's playing it, kind of makes you chuckle! Ok so now besides from the drunk and the homeless the one thing Penn station always has is some type of Musical entertainment. Whether its spoon guy with his 10 spoons, or a local Jazz band playing right next to the McDonalds, there's usually some form of music. Take a few nights ago for instance, a young man and a young woman were having a break dancing competition, personally watching that is interesting.
Ok so now your done looking at the horrible attempts to break dance. Wait.........what's that.........you hear yelling in the background......... Oh OH here it comes a fight.......you watch as an older man acting very feminine walks buy yelling and cursing up at storm at a janitor of the bathroom. The janitor then proceeds to get the police. Apparently this guy wasn't to happy that the bathroom was closed so he took it upon himself to reopen the men's room. When confronted by the Cops, the guy goes into a hissy poking one of the officers in the chest with his finger. Tisk tisk tisk there fruity, look what you've got your self into now, you've got two officers carrying you to the bookings! Well have a good night, Im sure a gay gentleman like yourself will have NO problems with Bubbah!

ha HA! It all sounds so magical!
Oh look there's a little scamp you neglected to mention! It's the criminally Insane Bastard in the shadows, who picks the right time to stab you and take your wallet.
I think I'll stick to WNEW and Cartoon Network for my entertainment.

YO NORTONFAN!!! You lil suburban white boy!!!! there is nothing wrong with PENN STATION...you wont get bothered if you are SMART about what you are doing...i go into Penn Station BY MYSELF all the time lately coming in from NJ Transit and usually at night....dont be a pussy about it...if you act all scared you end up looking like a tourist...if you notice one thing at Penn Station is that NO ONE MAKES EYE CONTACT and people just pretty much do what they gotta do...i personally find Penn Station colorful and its is a great place to observe how people are

I love Penn Station, it can be a blast at the right time. My favorite is when I go into the city for a concert or something, then after the show, it seems like everyone that was there is waitin for a train, it can be a very communal experience with the right crowd. People just chillin, talkin, sluggin down coffee starin at the arrival and departure board and those little tvs all over the place at 2 in the morning. Pretty cool, like a hub of life to put it in stumbling, poetic words.

I was always a fan and participant of the "Be The First To Discover Which Track" competition. Though many would just wait to hear the announcement or see it on the big board, there's a whole underground movement that carefully selects which track it will be before its announced. The choices can be based on any number of criteria including: Where it was yesterday, Lucky Numbers, or the popular, "I saw someone else go down there."
Then there'd be the walk of shame - if you guessed the wrong track and had to come back up the stairs...
So great... so fun.

I'm a pro at it. I get in my leadoff position and dart like crazy to get a seat on a 3am train to Ronkonkama.
Penn is the only place in the world you can buy porn, pizza and beer all at the same time.
The Pizza there really kicks ass! They have large slices and fill you up really nicely.
Also the ocassional homeless or drunk falling down the escalator can be fun!
