Woman bites and kills cobra that bit her

A woman in India has bitten and killed a cobra after it bit her.

Police in West Bengal say the 25-year-old was sleeping with her two children when the snake attacked.

Sify News says Nasim Bibi woke up in her home in Burdwan district to find the snake making its escape.

Police say she threw herself at the snake, sank her teeth into it and threw it away. After the bite, the snake went limp and died soon afterwards.

Mrs Bibi is "fighting for her life" in Kalna Hospital. The cobra's poisonous bite is frequently fatal.
