View Full Version : Why do WWE fans pay so much attention to storylines?

During the last few weeks of WWE programming i've noticed it more than ever. Whenever Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, or Brock Lesnar go anywhere near a Mike or get on the screen the fans start their boo-ing. They all pay so much attention to who is the bad guy in the storyline. The guys i just mentioned above are arguable the best wrestlers in the WWE, yet the fans hate them. The people in the arenas seem to go to the show to see the backstage promos with the Rock talking rather than see a great wrestling match with Kurt Angle. I can't even imagine giving him a YOU SUCK chant, hes probably the best in the business and can make anyone look good. I think Vince needs to stop thinking about the stupid fans and start giving the belt to someone who deserves it. Not to someone who can only hold it for a month because he has to go shoot a movie. Having a bad guy champ is always better than a good guy. If he's a good guy you know that in every match he will win or lose cheaply, if hes a heel then there are a lot more ways for a match to end and its more exciting!

It is an action soap opera, so if you don't pay attention to the storylines it would be pointless to watch.

stone cold should be begged to come back he is the best champion of everybody thats wrestling now + he plays the heel just as well as the fan favorite. dta. plus storylines make wrestling without them they would be awa i watched the other night not knowing any of the wrestlers. jarrett hall shamrock did not wrestle. hhmmmm! but they had no storylines. and it was pretty boring. <P>

NO, it ISN'T.
THAT is what people like Vince have made it into.
*sigh* All you people should go out and buy a "Ring of Honor" video. It's fucking great. Why?
It's 95% workrate.
5% storyline / soap opera.
Give me Christopher Daniels vs. Low-Ki vs. American Dragon any day of the week over "Brock Lesnar, Undisputed Champion".
