Hey, does anyone here have a worse computer than Moe's? I just got my new cable modem and it got me wondering if someone out there has a TRS-80 hooked up to a six baud modem.

mine is a 56k i refuse to get cable modem for two reasons
1. telemarkerts and bill collectors cant bother me
2. i still cant get cable...they know how to hold a grudge

I have a cable modem but my computer is really old. It's an old Mac clone, 150 MHz, 32 MB of RAM and 2 Gig hard drive. I've had it for 6 years.

You don't need a USB port for a cable modem, you can install a network port.

And bastard, telemarketers can't call you over the cable modem, just the phone. Besides, they already have your name anyway.

Christ! I almost glazed over this topic! Then, I saw my name, and was INSTANTLY drawn in! Al Dukes Fan, you REALLY know how to get me to look! OH NO! It's a Made you look post! LOCK IT UP!

But seriously, my comp stinks. I'm always virus scanning, disc scanning,and defragging just to gain a LITTLE BIT of system speed. I think the worst thing about it, besides the 56K modem, is the Pentium 1 chip, and the 24 megs of RAM.

I have had my cable modem for quite sometime and although I had some problems at first with the hook up, its been outstanding. As for my computer i had a really shatty machine (that didnt have a usb port, so i had to put in a network card) so I said F it and got a new dell........ no money down 33 dollars a month for an $1100 computer....... If your on your computer alot it is soooo well worth it <P>
