R&F "greatest hits & bits" cd producer??

Alot of people had a positive response to NJDMMOE's idea of aRon and Fez Greatest hits CD.

Does anyone here have the time and/or means to actually produce such a thing?? All you'd really need is:
access to past shows (without the dumps)
a simple version of ProTools (or other digital editing software)
and the time/desire to do it.

It would probably have to be a 2 disc set if it's going to date back to the beginning of their reign at WNEW, but a double CD can be duplicated for as little as 40 cents.

I'm happy to do some research, but if anyone out there knows aboot distribution (or has any other constructive ideas) this is the place to post it.

I don't think anyone who has access to the undumped shows would jeopardize that for what would clearly be an unauthorized and probably illegal CD. Your best bet is to just record the best ofs on the weekends and during the day and slowly compile a best of from that. There are archives of past shows out there on the net also.

I'm totally into a lot of Archived material, but I think that NEW stuff, like skits written for the CD using old charaters like Iris would make it even cooler.

Just one man's thoughts on this great idea from..... ME! Well what do yo know!

You cannot produce this cd yourself and sell it. All material belongs to teh radio station and/or R&F. If you attempt to sell these cds, you will meet the wnew lawyers.

If you choose to put something like this together and give it out for free to friends, then it is a different issue.

I was hoping that this project would be "official". That's the only way to really get access to all the unedited recordings. The $$ (after recouping the cost of production) could be used to promote the show (stickers, hats, tshirts etc etc)

An officially sanctioned release is the only way to keep the quality high and the overhead low. Perhaps a production room at the studio could be used for the editing??? Hmmm...
