yeah, when no holds barred came out he wrestled a couple of matches in the wwf, just to ride the hype i guess. so he did actually wrestle, albeit very little.
roddy piper in they live was the money, but andre in princess bride is bar none the best performance.

yeah, when no holds barred came out he wrestled a couple of matches in the wwf, just to ride the hype i guess. so he did actually wrestle, albeit very little.
Don't forget his forgettable appearance in WCW, where he wrestled (very, very briefly) alongside the Dungeon of Doom, Lex Luger, and the late Jeep Swenson (here under the guise of "The Ultimate Solution") against Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage. He went under the name of "Z Gangsta". This was at Uncensored 1996. The match was one huge, complicated mess. It was a clusterfuck, but not a horrible clusterfuck like I've seen in about 147,038 ECW matches.
You know what? All of you should go out and get a copy of WCW Uncensored 1996. Cause it has one hell of a GREAT William (Steven) Regal match. Regal vs. Dave "Fit" Finlay. FUCKING STIFF AS SHIT. Watch as Regal & Finlay legit beat the shit out of each other. Enjoy Finlay breaking Regal's nose. Watch with glee and amusement as the announcers start to mark out over the violence.
It's a good example of how great and brutal Regal can be when he's allowed to wrestle HIS style.

Hulk Hogan was also great in the made for TV movie, then I think TV show Thunder in Paradise or something like that. He drove that boat around all the time. Brutus Beefcake also does some great acting on that show......and the Jim the Anvil also.

Hogan's "Thunder in Paradise" had a lot of wrestling guest stars. Terry Funk did an episode. And who can forget the fact that Steve Borden, aka Sting, had a recurring role as the villain "Hammerhead"?
Another good wrestler-related movie was "Tag Team". It starred Roddy Piper & Jesse Ventura as ex-pro wrestlers who joined the police force. It came out in the late 80s, and I remember watching it on TV and just marking out. I was SO hoping that it would get picked up as a series (the film was a TV pilot), but it never did.

How about Body Slam?
Heres a brief bio of it i found.
Body Slam (1987)
Dirk Benedict stars as a rock promoter turned wrestling manager in this comedy that capitalizes on the wrestling craze of the 1980's. Benedict's clients are "Slick" Rick Roberts (Roddy Piper) and Tonga Tom (Sam Fatu), a young tag team formerly managed by Captain Lou "Merano" (you can certainly guess who played this part). When Merano refuses to give Rick and Tom a title shot, Benedict takes his wrestlers AND his rock band on the road, creating "Rock and Wrestling" (yes, it IS as bad as it sounds). This new sensation catapults both the tag team and the band to fame, earning the whole lot of them a shot at the title. Of course, they defeat Merano's team for the championship. There's some fun at the end when we see some famous wrestlers playing themselves ringside, including Ric Flair, "Classy" Freddie Blassie, and Bruno Sammartino.
