After taking out my recycling this morning, I decided it's about time for another 30 days on the wagon.
Any other takers?

skidmark, I am so in brother.
IM me if you begin to unbuckled your wagon safety-belt and get the urge to jump off. I am with you brother.
I used to be able to pick up the recycle bin and walk it to the curb. Now I nearly have to push the bin to the curb with the front bumper of my car.

Aggie: It means no little drinkypoo's.

This stint may get postponed a few days.

Rooster, will you be my sponsor? I've been going through alot of cough medicine lately.
Here's an idea: why don't you all go to an AA meeting once or twice over the month and get your 30-day chips at the end of the month. Then find a bar that will let you cash them in for beer. There's always dive bars that will give you beer for AA chips.

How can you go alcohol free in the middle of bbq season? And what about the Fez-tival?
Good Question.
25 months tomorrow. No booze. But Who's counting?
Apparenly I am.
But anyway; I might suggest for others:
-I did cold turkey, but perhapsa weekends only things, and then a saturday only thing, or...
-on the Opposite; for some who might drink more; go the other way. No Monday drinking. Other days? Go for it. Then add Tuesday drinking. Sounds lame; I've seen it work for more then a few.
-I've also seen success with people making it not so easy for them to drink so much so fast. Stick a beer/booze fridge somwhere far from where you drink. Dont let others get you a drink. You gotta go down and grab another.
And Anyone can PM/IM me if they want someone to talk to. The Mods will tell you [I think they believe me] that I was indeed a full-time teacher and dealt with this with the Kids, wit the Parents of some of the Kids, and quite a few others. This is experience I really wish I didnt have, but... there it is. Meaning; I still have and keep stuff on people even they dont know. DYFS and all that stuff in my head, and it goes nowhere.
I will say this; No One could tell me to slow, or stop. No one. I made the choice. And in the beginning? not so easy. I lost 14 pounds in seven days; thats how fucking bloated I was.
[Edit: Oh; one more thing. When I quit, there were some things I thought I'd not be able to do anymore. Like go to concerts, bars, parties, etc. Results may vary; but for me, it took a while, but I do all that and its fun as hell]
Wow I'm SO not Cleany Cleanerton. There's Marlboros all over, and occasionally a puff, but I think some here may have seen pics of me at 360.
I was Miserable.
Sober often isnt fun. But it's not Miserable.

Just to bump this thread, and give a progress report on what can happen, I went to the Doc yesterday for a check-up.
When I drank; I was on ahigh-blood pressure med and a med for edema [swelling in tissue from excess liquid].
Yesterdays BP with none of the above meds: 90/60.
HOO-HAH ! !
If I was still drinking at the rate I'd been drinking two years ago, there'd once in a while, perhaps, be a mention of that Mike the Teacher guy who was on the show, but then one day Ron said the guy died; heart attack at 38. Holy shit.
Thats not a supposition, that was my future. My path. The road was all nice and paved. The path off it to here [no booze] wasnt all nice and paved, but it's a long path. The other stops pretty quick at a cliff you dont notice, you just walk right off it and die.

And here's my progress report.....
I haven't had a drink in 34 days. In that 34 days I've gotten kidney stones, dizziness that last hours, tmj, and a shitty attitude about everything. I feel like I could rip someones head off at any given moment during the day. I hate the world and everyone in it.
My blood pressure is fine, though.

I work 55 hours a week and go to school
I'm moving out of my apartment this weekend.
I'm quitting my job and moving to a new state on the other side of the country in three weeks, where I will have no job and no apartment to call my own.
Newcastle United is competing for silverware this month (they haven't won a trophy since 1969) while trying to qualify for the champions league as well.
Alcohol is the only thing getting me through this right now and I will not forsake it.
