Last semester i tried rushing one. It wasnt really worth my time.

Many of the things i had to do was pointless and asinine.

For example i HAD to sit with my pledge brothers everyday at lunch (most of the time i didnt go to lunch, especially at the particular place they had it)

I had to pull out of it, even though this particular frat didnt do any hazing.

They were nice guys, but i just didnt have the time to do it.

i'm in a frat, ZBT. i understand most people's opinions of frats, and they are right to a point.

but a frat is just like anything else, some winners, a whole lot of losers. i was young when i pledged and i definetely wouldn't do it now, but i met some of my best friends through the frat and i will never regret doing it. and i didn't buy the friends i made, we just clicked i guess.

when i transferred to oneonta my junior year, my roommate, who was also a transfer, and i pledged. i was never really into that sort of thing, but i thought it would be a good way to meet new people. i ended up dropping out of it about 2 months into it (my pledge class ended up pledging for 84 days before they were let in). i hated it, having to kiss a bunch of girls' asses, not being able to wear what you wanted to, not having a life, not being able to have time to study or be with my "real" friends. and although most of the girls were cool, a lot were just very backstabbing and bitchy to each other, which i thought was very hypocritical being "sisters". i was a much happier person once i dropped out. i worried about being fucked with, but everyone was really cool to me once i left. one sister, who was a teacher's assistant in a class i took, actually hooked me up with an A in a class when i should've failed.
