Soundcard question

ok, I bought a Soundblaster Audigy Platinum, which has that cool ass control panel/remote control thing that goes in teh 5 1/4" bay. For some reason, my system is not recognizing the panel in the bay. any ideas?

the card might not be in the slot right or the drivers might be outdated.

xp should be able to recogize it.

Maybe your sound card should hang around in the same bars as the bay. You know, maybe just "happen" to pop in at Barnes & Noble at the same time as your bay... that sort of thing. Eventually, the bay will look up and say, "Hey, don't I know you from somewhere?"

I thought xp would recognize it too. I tried pulling the plugs and reconnecting too. I thought I upgraded the drivers. I'll try that again.

Does the computer recognize the PCI card, but not the drive section? If that's the case, I'd suspect a faulty interconnect cable or connector on the card or drive section.

Also make sure that any on-board audio devices are disabled (at BIOS level if possible)
