"The Rose" by Bette Midler. I know, it's lame, but I get a little choked up when I hear it.
"Sure, radio had a simple dignity. But people wanted to see the grieving families. And, as usual, technology refused to be dignity's bitch."
---'The Daily Show' on the advent of television
Oh, by the way, which one's pinky?

bright eyes' messenger bird's song.
even just reading the lyrics make me tear up:
the kitchen is cold but the coffee is warm
the sun is coming up
the day has just begun and you are already bored
you're bored of cheering me up, bored of calming me down, bored of drying my eyes
but there was once a time when you were the one
you were the blue of the sky
you came after the storm
you were the switch on the wall in the dark of the hall that i'm still fumbling for
because i'm lost in the black
i don't know where i am
i have my arms stretched out in front and i'm calling your name just as loud as i can
and i know there's words that we will never speak
and the questions can't be answered easily, but i want it to be easy
so just nod you head if the plans have changed
shake it love, if they've stayed the same
smile at me and i will stay
start to cry and i'll go away
just please don't leave me guessing
so you made me come
then you sent me away like a messenger bird
so i circled the earth, blown away in the wind, but i always returned
with some new little song
some sad story to tell of a brief love affair with a girl i compared to you and she failed
you said you don't want me to beg
then said get down on your knees
because you knew that i would if i'd do any good satisfying your needs
and i know all about those things we cannot speak
and just so you know, well they don't bother me
so you don't have to be worried
just nod your head if the planes have changed
shake it, love if they stay the same
smile at me and i will stay
start to cry and i'll go away
just please don't leave me guessing
nod your head if your mind's been changed
shake it love, if some hope remains
say the word and of course i'll stay
roll your eyes and i'll go away, just please don't keep me guessing
please don't leave me waiting

In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.
"I will always love you" by Whitney Houston. It reminds me of a very deep love I had for a soul mate and the love he had for me, but the relationship could never be taken any steps further because of outside influences - very much like the movie - The Bodyguard.

'You were meant for me' by Jewel
Since Sept 11th I get choked up whenever I hear the Star-Spangled Banner or America the Beautiful and lastly, I can't believe I'm about to say this, 'Ready to Run' by The Dixie Chicks. I have no idea why. I'm not a fan of their's, the song isn't particularly emotional or anything, but whenever I hear that song, I well up. It's always at the harmony part in the chorus ". . . what's all this talk about loooooove?" It sounds so beautiful, it gets me every time. God, I am such a faggot!!

Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful" can always cause a tear to well up in my eye, just because it's so God damn pretty.
"Dear Lord" by Steve Forbert is one of the most beautiful yet depressing songs I think I've ever heard, and that one hits me right in the gut, too.
