Cell phones sure beat those public pay phones that smell like ass and have aids and snot and poop on them.

I still lick those public phones whenever I see one. Tastes like dried semen and ground beef.

Yes cell phones are just another evil in society. I mean the idea of being able to call someone when ever you want, I mean faster, clearer communications to anyone; anywhere; at any time... well now that is just wrong. Anyone who tries to make there lives a little more convenient should die of brain cancer.

In fact we should get rid of call waiting, caller ID, redial, HELL EVEN TOUCH-TONE, ***I say go back to rotary dial!!!!!! Wasn't rotary dial the best, if you fuck up you get to start that painful process all over again.

Down WITH CELL PHONES!!!!!

I've seen enough stuff done to public phones that I would never use one if I didn't have to. I bought a cell phone because I used to commute an hour and a half to work, and the couple times I needed it made it worth having.

But fuck people who use them while driving!

I personally never wanted to use one, and got so annoyed with people who drove with them. Recently though, I bought one because I have this fear of someday needing it for an emergency, but I vowed I would not be like those other cell phone people.

But once I got it, it totally changed and I started making tons of calls, just randomly, cause it was a cool new toy. Anyhow, now I only use it if I really need it, otherwise not that much. And no risk of brain cancer, cause I use one of those nifty headsets that goes right over your ear, so I'm free to talk and live for years!! :)

I have a job that usually costs me a phone or two a year due to tough conditions. I don't want an all in one device. You are right, when i got this phone I only had a few to choose from. the downside is I carry a phone, an MP3 and a Palm TX. But at least I won't loose everything at the same time

I just went to the Verizon Wireless website and easily found 30 basic phones.

They're easy to find, they just aren't advertised.

Anyone who carries a "palm pilot" and a cell phone needs to have their head examined.

Throw in a mp3 player as well, and you are obviously creating an excuse for a "man bag".

I still don't. Unless it's between the hours of 8 and 4, then I carry my work phone. Otherwise I don't have a cell. I have a land-line and an email address. I'll be quietly reading if you need me.

EDIT: I also listen to FM radio ... though the tuner is digital. WFMU!!

it's amazing how things have changed since 2001.
then they were arguing against using public payphones.
now, you'd be hard pressed to find a pay phone.
i can't even think of where i could find one. even in the city most of those phones have been removed.

I'd venture to guess you don't see them because you don't need them. I have never needed a pay phone and had difficulty finding one. They are everywhere!

ok, by your rationale, since you don't need them either, then you don't see them, so how do you know they're everywhere?

See post 31. The post where I said I don't have a cell phone. My work phone is my in work desk. I turn it on when I get in at 8 and I turn it off and put it in the desk at 4. I use payphones.

EDIT: From nyc.gov: As of July 7, 2009, there 18,090 active public pay telephones on City sidewalks regulated by DoITT. Sixty-five percent, or 11,842 of these pay phones are located at the curbside, and 35%, or 6,248 pay phones, are located at the building line

Mongolians at least still have their own country and a world-renowned cuisine. I'd say Native American is a BIG step down from them.

Though the Mongolians have somehow managed to make wrestling even gayer than it already was:
