Need some HELP!!!

At the beginning of this week, my company hired a Temp to help with some big conversion that will be happening within the next few weeks. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I trained her on the job and even wrote up detailed directions for her to follow along with while I did the job and then she could use it as a guide when she did it. I even listened in on her client calls, so that I could assist her when she needed help. Today was the first day that I "left her on her own", which is n ot far away since she sits at the cubicle in front of me and told her that if she got really stuck on something, just ask the client to hold and ask me and I would help. When I got back from lunch, I was given a "heads up" by a few people that she was having people complain to my boss that I didn't train her at all in an attempt to get me into serious trouble at work or possibly even fired.

What do I do? Is there anything that I even can do? I really can't afford to lose this job right now! HELP!!

Maybe you can go to your boss (not mentioning what the co-workers told you) and just tell him you want to update him on the temp and what you've been doing. Kinda to fill them in on all that stuff you did to train her.

I don't know, that really sucks if she's doing that. I would try to bring it up in a non-chalant kind of way so you can cover your ass with your boss if that is possible. Doubt I helped, but I tried. Good luck :)

I just went to a higher up in my company who told me that she has been seen with some people who hold quite a bit of weight around here. It is widely rumored (to everyone but me evidently) that she is looking to secure a full time permanent position here and since I am the only permanent one left in my department, the damage is going to be to me. It was suggested that I do a bit of damage control ASAP if I have any hope of keeping my job.

Are people so desperate for jobs they go to temp agencies and try to screw people out of theirs? Or maybe she's just a sick bitch who enjoys that. That's really messed up, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it turns out OK, but do you really think they would hire someone who JUST got there?

Write her an email (so you have everything in writing). Tell her that it is for her own information if she needs to refer to it in the future so there is no accusing tone in the email.
First start off with "Steps we went over on (name the project)" on the dates you assisted her, and list the steps you taught her. Send a copy to your boss or anyone else you think might save your ass.

I would call the temp company and request another temp. She works for them, not you, therefore she's their problem, not yours. You get another temp AND you pay her back by screwing her over with her temp company. <P>
