Wow I can't believe it! When I first pursued the field a few months ago, the town officials told me the park was closed due to "soil" problems. They told me to call back in a month and hopefully they'll get new soil. I called back and they said the problem was fixed.

I could sue them for lying to me and never even telling me about the toxic waste and asbestos that lies there. How could they let people use the field knowing this information and outright lie about it? I think it's a justifiable case.

For everyone who played near the slip n' slide and all those who jumped around in the lake we created from it, you just might wake up with a third nipple. This can be a good thing yanno....

Trust me, there is nothing to worry about. Asbestos will not harm you unless you work with it for years or grind it up and do lines of it. Its not like we were walking around in asbestos snow like in the Wizard Of Oz. Second, the black ooze is most likely a petroleum product, which is pretty harmless as far as pollutants go. Trust me, I work with this stuff everyday.

There are good fields, asbestos free, in South Rockland County. I can give a call to a few people and we can have them, just someone has to let me know if they need the fields. They even have batting cages to warm up before you get into the game...and the good thing is it is only near a very large mental health facility...

How long before the doctored photographs come out?

It's not like any state hasn't put a park/ballfield on top of a dump before. Roofing materials? Unless we ground them up and sprinkled them on the burgers and hot dogs, I don't think that there will be a problem. The things you have to look for are the big rusty barrels with the obligatory skull and crossbones on the side...
