I think that the mods should add a sports area to R+F.net, where we can conduct fantasy leagues, and polls, and just talk sports in general. If you do it, youll find me in the hockey section non-stop!
(my time clock is messed up, i posted at 7:18 and it says its 6:01!)

Hey, I've worked in the media relations departments of 2 different sports teams. I know the perfect guy to be the mod *wink* :)
I think this board used to have a sports section when it first started.

Is it Jesus? =)
So, this area would be so we could talk about Huey Lewis?

REALLY!? That's what I want to do, but it's so damn hard to get a job in sports! You're very lucky. A lot of people would love to have your job! :)
Oh, and I think that would be a good idea. I never know where to put my sports posts. In entertainment, the game room or off topic.

Well everyone is Jesus in a way.
I've been an intern for 2 sports teams. Right now I'm a writer for the Dragons' official site. To be fair, it's an internship and I don't get paid.
AGGIE- do you have a degree yet? I'm only a high schooler and I think the key is to start with covering smaller teams (Arena football, lacrosse, minor league baseball or hockey, etc.) for a website or a small publication. Just getting yourself into the press box is vital because this is where you meet people that can help you. In only my second Dragons game I met a former assisstant GM with a local NFL team who tried to get me an internship with them. Unfortunately I was too young, but by going to games, no matter how small the league, you are bound to meet people that can help you out.

My parents are journalists, and the best thing you can do if just freelance. After awhile if they like you, you can get hired. Its how my dad became Editor in Chief of the Miami Herald
