<A HREF=http://www.jaguaro.org/feature/03-09-02_wesk.shtml>This will throw some fanboys for a loop.</A>

With some sure-to-be-controversial picks as Nirvana, "Nevermind", this'll surely annoy some people, but I think it makes some good calls. I've never tended to deify an album because it has one or two of my favorite songs on it, as the rest could very well be crap.

41. Pulp Fiction - Original Soundtrack
It was inevitable to have this in '94, but now you're over the cheeky Neil Diamond cover, you've heard "Miserlou" 800 times, and you've bought Al Green's Greatest Hits. It's time to get on with your life, isn't it?
HaHa, this is so true!

Remove Tim by the Replacements? They can kiss my fuzzy butt.

Although I have to agree with them on Hole's Live through This.

beck midnight vultures is one of the best albums ever. they can blow me.

i'm so sick of all these lists. what's with all these top 100 of all time everything? why should i listen to what people think when it is these people that are responsible for creed, limp biskit, linkin park, insync, etc.

these lists are just there to piss people off and get them talking, which is good but i'm giving up on all of them.

I posted this since it was probably the most astute of the lists...I highly doubt the people behind it are responsible for Limp Biskit and the shit parade you listed.

And sure, this list was designed to make you mad...at least it gets you talkin'.

Oh, and I'm also pretty sure this wasn't written in any particular order.

It appears that I own about 1/4 of the albums mentioned. Obviously, any list such as this one is going to be subjective, but I am intrigued by the authors' assumption that everyone who listens to music is white, middle class, and between the ages of 21-45...

That said, I couldn't agree more with the comments about No Doubt (always hated 'em) and Ani DiFranco (who I dig, but it's sooo true). And I hate the live Built to Spill album - what a crock of bologna.

"You're living all over me" and "Bug" by Dinosaur Jr. are two of the greatest albums in recorded history. Bow to J. Mascis!

I smash my fists into my face. I can feel it when I close my eyes. And this is good.

I HATE Ani DIFrano. I'm so sick of the indie hype surrounding her. "Oooh she's so strong and she's so deep" No she's an angry dyke which is EXTREMELY redundant. This whole list is simply a matter of taste. The Beastie Boys never professed to be musical geniuses. But they make funny goofy catchy songs that most people seem to like. U2? No one ever said that all their albums were classics. Nirvana? They were a good band. Kurt was a hack until he died and then he became a tortured genius all of a sudden. This guy makes a lot of good points and he challenges your ability to like what you want. That's all these lists are good for. You see something you don't agree with on it and it strengthens your resolve to be you.

Stop asking the Fiend how he feels! He never feels good and he hates you ALL!!

"Sgt. Pepper's"? No. That album (along with "Revolver" and The Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds") revolutionized the use of the studio , instrumentation and recording techniques. It also changed music from being singles-oriented to album-oriented. Finally, it showed that popular music can incorporate a variety of styles (rock, ballads, Indian music). It may not be the Beatles' best album but it's their most important work.
