What is your favorite kind of BBQ
sauce? Sweet? Smokey? Spicy?
Tomato-based? Molasses-based?

Personally I like it with a good
measure of honey and lots of
smokey chipotle chile flavor.

PLEASE don't name commercial
brands; I don't care about those
(If anyone is even in their mind
THINKING of answers "KC
Masterpiece" or something like
that, well.... you need to get
betetr taste buds, budday)

There's great barbeque place down here that makes different sauces. I alternate between the "Memphis" "Kansas City" and "Eastern Carolina": http://www.oldglorybbq.com/sauces.html

I always like hiding the BBQ sauce, and later, when everybody's looking at it, I find it and become the hero. Kenny Allen taught me that trick.

before putitng the dry rub on them sometimes - JD
can be good in bbq sauce too, but sometihng about

Mmmm.... smokey and molasses-based, baby! I love raw tomatoes, but tomato-based sauces of any kind make me retch.

Oh, Too Cute, I agree. This is a very important discussion ! ~ We need to cook together !

Have you tried grilling Portobello mushrooms or Peppers, with BBQ sauce?

I am with you on Chipotle Chile , and the milder Ancho Chile BBQ ( with a dash of Soy ) Sauce ..

I Marinate the Beef / Pork / Veggie Kebabs for a while, sometimes a dry ( smoky-Hickory ) rub ...
and you can ehance the flavours by using Mesquite or Hickory chips in the fire - if it isn't a gas grill.

I don't put TOO much BBQ sauce on the food at first, or it will completely BURN - before the meat is cooked through.
( I coat it again later, just before you want to remove the food from the grill )

* For chicken ( this is delicious - sounds odd ) , a dry rub of herbs like Cilantro or Oregano - then add a little fresh Oregano to a honey-based BBQ sauce is wonderful !
( You can even grill Tofu, this way ) In the summer...EVERY food item should go on the Grill.
Except cheesecake.

I either like thick and smoky, with some hints of orange and raisin.. or thin and spicy, Southern style.

A few weeks back we barbecued at work and marinated chicken wings with Alize Wild Passion, quite tasty.
