I was in the car and listening to the song as it came on. I realized there are some lyrics that just have powerful meanings. Maybe more then the writer/singer intended. If you can post ONLY ONE song at a time....just the part that had the most powerful meaning. I would like to know who hears what then they hear the songs.
Mine was .."And love dares you to care for the people on the edge of the night...and love dares you to change our way of caring about ourselves..this is our last chance...this is our last dance...this is oursevles...Under Pressure"
Queen and David Bowie-Under Pressure

I NEVER suffer from insanity...I love EVERY minute of it

A couple of memorable Madonna lyrics...

"Next time you want pussy, just look in the mirror, baby" - Waiting for you/Erotica

WHERE LIFE BEGINS
Warm inside, yeah
I'd like to direct your attention
To something that needs directing to
A lot of people talk about
Dining in and eating out
I guess that's what this song's about

I know this is not a dining room conversation
And you don't have to listen if you don't have the time
But let me remind you in case you don't already know
Dining out can happen down below

Bridge:

Everybody's talkin' 'bout
Wanting that and needing this
I'd just like to know
If you want to learn a different kind of kiss

Chorus:

So won't you go down where it's warm inside
Go down where I cannot hide
Go down where all life begins
Go down that's where my love is

Now what could be better than a home cooked meal
How you want to eat it depends on how you feel
You can eat all you want and you don't get fat
Now where else can you go for a meal like that
It's not fair to be selfish or stingy
Every girl should experience eating out
Sometimes when I come home from a hard day at work
I swear it's all I can think about

(bridge, substituting "way to" for "kind of")
(chorus)

Colonel Sanders says it best
"Finger lickin' good"
Let's put what you've learned to the test
Can you make a fire without using wood
Are you still hungry; aren't you glad we came
I'm glad you brought your raincoat
I think it's beginning to rain

(bridge, substituting "way to" for "kind of")
(chorus, repeat)

That's where my love is
Come inside
That's where all life begins
It's warm inside

See guys, it's all about tookie pleasure...

these are lyrics from singer/ songwriter Janis Ian....they are sad but are beautiful...This song in some way reminds me of my high school experience and how being a teen and looking for acceptance is like a jungle and you are trying to survive

"AT SEVENTEEN"
I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth
And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say come dance with me
And murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems
At seventeen.......

here is another fave of mine- PS..this is my last post on this subject- i know how sad you all will be...this song is by ETTA JAMES

At last
My love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song
At last
The skies above are blue
Well my heart was wrapped up in clover
The night I looked at you
I found a dream
That I could speak to
A dream that I could call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
Well
You smile
You smile
Oh and then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
For you are mine at last

how much will money bye
Well I'll take my time
As I drift and die"-Puddle of Mudd

"Some folks are born made to wave the flag,
Ooh, they're red, white and blue.
And when the band plays "Hail to the chief",
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord,

It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son.
It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no,"-Creedance Clearwater revival

All that you touch, all that you see, all that you taste, all you feel; all that you loved, all that you hate, all you distrust, all you save; and all that you give, all that you deal, all that you buy, beg, borrow, or steal; and all you create, all you destroy, all that you do, all that you say; all that you eat, and everyone you meet, and all that you slight, and everyone you fight; and all that is now, all that is gone, and everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon...

-"Eclipse" by Pink Floyd-now you know why I love them so much. Who else could write lyrics so powerful?

"Sure, radio had a simple dignity. But people wanted to see the grieving families. And, as usual, technology refused to be dignity's bitch."
---'The Daily Show' on the advent of television

Oh, by the way, which one's pinky?
