View Full Version : Creepy Crawly Animals in Texas...

When I was walking up to my apartment yesterday I saw a little frog and lizard just hanging out outside! I don't live in the rain forst people! It freaked me out.
I HATE any type of insect/reptile...and Texas is full of them. Growing up in NJ, I'm not used to seeing cockroaches the size of small animals, lizards and frogs jumping around outside (my dad's dog chases lizards instead of squirrels) and poisonous spiders...EWWW! It's like another planet down here.
Although when I finally saw my first NYC rat I screamed really loud!!! It was no joke almost the size of a cat.

I've heard Armidillio is good
I wouldn't know, there always dead on the side of the road, but I actually touched one, there were armadillo races where 2 people put on gloves and try to make their armadillo run (I won, woohoo)-Oh God, I'm turning into a hick! I ate alligator not too long ago also...Bobby Boucher invited me over and we ate squirrel for dessert. :)

But they make for interesting roadkill -- in which Texas leads the nation I believe.

Anywhere on Earth if you are standing on dry land, you are about 7 feet from at least 1 spider....
The rats in NYC are amazing! I was watching one on the subway tracks, and it stuck its head in a small potato chip bag. The train came, and the sucker just sat there, and didn't seem phased to have a train roar over the top of him.
Lizards are cool. When I visited my relatives in Florida (Tampa, not Pinellas Park), there were all kinds of lizards and frogs hanging out in their yard. We always tried to catch the lizards, but they were too fast.
