D&M Looking For New Deal - 7/9 - During a fan rally behind Fairfax's WJFK-FM on Monday, DC midday radio duo "Don And Mike" (left) said that they're looking for a new radio contract and a new syndication deal. After a recent feud with station-mates and JFK-FM PM drivers "Opie And Anthony," which resulted in several weeks of suspension, D&M told the crowd that they have no plans to stay at their station past August 2003, when their contract expires. And, they said that their employer, Infinity, could sue them if they continue to mention O&A on the firm's airwaves. D&M also confirmed that they're looking around for a new national syndication deal which would include an official website and internet streaming of their show, which Infinity prohibits.....

Alright, I'll tie it back to R&F...during the so-called rally, this chick who was apparently "Ms. Don & Mike 1989" (Gads, one can only imagine) gave a "shout-out" to D.C.'s one and only radio-whore, Mr. PerryNoid. And that is that.

After what happened in NYC, these 2 should just be happy to have jobs ANYWHERE. Dont forget, they made it sound like it was THEIR idea to leave ny...maybe there are troubles we dont know of in dc, and theyre pulling the same, "its our idea to leave" b4 they get booted.

Actually, I'll give them credit, they've made NO bones about what happened to them in NY. They've willingly said MANY times that they bombed in the ratings and were kicked back to DC. Their problems with WJFK have dated back many years, and they only stuck around at the last round of negotiations ebcause of the promised shot at NY. Since that (they) failed, Don sees no reason to stick around and has decided to bail. Good riddance. Odds are they'll go pollute one of the many stations that I never have to listen to here in DC as opposed to the only three I can stand.
