We disagree. I like that song and put it in this thread based on the fact that I was watching "Big Daddy" at the time and they use that song really well in the soundtrack. The Guns version would not have been appropriate for the scene. And I have been a big Guns fan from Day 1.

Tall James, if I wasn't such a flaming heterosexual I would kiss you! I've been racking my brain trying to remember the name of that band!
It was basically REM with Warren Zevon on lead vocals if memory serves correctly, and it's a great version.
I'm also partial to any remake the Ramones ever did, particularly "Surfin' Bird" and "Do You Wanna Dance?"

Well, people seem to have most of the modern day covers um... covered, so I thought I'd throw in a few old school ones:
Blue Moon of Kentucky - Elvis
Twist and Shout - The Beatles
Mr. Tambourine Man - The Byrds
With a Little Help From My Friends - Joe Cocker
Little Wing - Derek and the Dominoes
Love In Vain - Rolling Stones
Just My Imagination - Rolling Stones

No, I think Proud Mary is the name of the song, most people just call it "Rollin on a River".
I'm gonna add Willie Nelson doing "Bridge Over Troubled Water". I've always liked that one. And The Lemonheads "Mrs. Robinson"

The Grateful Dead originally did Bertha. It wasn't a cover.
You don't cover The Band, The Band covers you.

I have been listening to the Scott Weiland's version of The Smith's Real around the Fountain and I absolutely love the song. Are there any other fans of this song out there?
Here is an extended live version

Always one of my favorite covers. I saw Jimmy at the Tampa show of the Ribbon of Highway Endless Skyway tour a few days ago and it made me think of it.
