I think Big Mo, Piazza and Alomar will have big second halves, and the pitching staff will continue to overachieve.

From a met fan point of view i really dont think the mets are goin to the series BUT i dont think the yankees are taking it all...especially with rivera being so eratic...but i do believe that the mets will bounce back...like heck said its just too good on paper.

Was this the reason why we built this team? We were build for an appearance in the World Series not just the playoffs.

Since the first half debacle, that is the best we could do.

I'm a little worried, but I think they'll make a run at it. Don't forget they were more than 10 back last season before they started pushing the Braves with 10 games to go...so it's definitely going to happen.

The pitching has been over-achieving, and the hitting has been under expectations, so hopefully they'll even out and we'll start to really see what this team looks like.

And don't forget, theres a LONG WAY to go yet. a lot can happen in 80 games.

That is a great book by Klapisch and that other guy. I dont think the team is as bad as that, but I do think that Alomar more than Vaughn is a big reason for this underacheivement...I think Allie is hurt but isnt reporting it...

Goddman Mets are so inconsistent this year. Some days they shine, some days they blow, --most of their wins are one-run squeekers. I agree with Heck that they have just too much talent on paper to die a lonely death in the second half. The Braves gotta come back down to earth sometime, but Big Mo & Alomar have to get into their groove first. Oh yeah, Yanks suck.

This happens with BOTH teams.
I remember sitting in Shea around 1977. The place was empty. The Yankees were winning and packing the Stadium.
I also remember going to Yankee Stadium around 1969, the place was a ghost town as the Mets made history.
Most people love a winner, that's just how it is. I'm sure the Nets will pick up many new fans this season. Trying to find a Nets fan before this past season was harder than finding a pork chop at a Bar Mitvah.
