Yes in fact I did order it because WWEFallon mentioned the MOTYC X Division Title Match. It was well worth it.
Absolutely. Like I said, easily worth the 10 bucks alone. If they keep giving us matches like that, I'll gladly throw my money at them.
That's where I saw the Style's Clash for the very first time. Did he steal it from a Japanese wrestler? He can't be that good. Where did he come from? Last time I saw him in the ring he was part of a WCW tag team and now... I think he maybe better than Jeff Hardy. Did you see the height on his twisting senton bomb?
I'm not sure if he stole it from a Japanese wrestler. A LOT of moves get taken from overseas, but I can't remember seeing it done over there, at least not first.
As for Styles, like Tenay said in the broadcast, he's been around 3 years or so. He's wrestled mainly in the independents, particularly having a good long run in NWA Wildside (where he had MANY great matches). Wildside was, at one time, the farm league for WCW, which is why you saw him and Air Paris as a tag team briefly in WCW before it was bought out. I personally think he's better than Hardy, but that's just me. He's awful talented. He was actually in the WWF developmentals, or rather he was going to be, but apparently they offered him a contract with very low dollar signs attached to it. He could make more working for the NWA and the indies. I'm glad he's not in the WWF, because frankly, I doubt they'd let him do half the stuff he pulls off in the ring.
The only problems I had with it was the first hour of crap, Cheex who doesn't deserve to be in a ring (didn't he break the ring from what I read in dirtsheets), WWE's Barbara Bush won the Miss TNA Contest, didn't get a glimpse of Daffney in her lingerie, the old fart, wannabe Debra Austin, Bobcat hitting on Jeremy "I need to stay on the internet and get off the mic" Borash, "last week's" clips on rotation and the annoying TNA cage dancers as filler.
General consensus from those of us who ordered / saw the PPV was that teh first hour wasn't that great. I thought Jarrett / Hall as okay (but both men looked tired & lethargic, and the ending was booked badly), and David Young vs. Apolo was good if forgettable. The Cheex thing.....REALLY disturbing. I hope to Jesus he was a one-time thing. And I agree with you, the biggest travesty of the whole show was that they didn't show Daffney in her unmentionables. That's CRIMINAL!!! ;)
But whatever problems I had with the show, the X Title made me forget it. :)
