Yeah, i tried calling D+M during the radio war. When they asked me what I wanted to say, I said i wanted to express support for D+M and they hung up.
Of course i wasnt going to, but meh.

Oh, I didn't mean the "ALL 5 OF YOU" line as a diss. I think that all listeners of this show are superior human beings, most of the time. I was just a little upset at the lack of DC support to this thread. It WOULD be nice to have all the DC fans solidify around the show, and make thier opinions knows to WJFK.

I can answer this! maryland did not officially join the confederacy, but 20,000 marylanders did fight for the south. and while marylanders had the lowest rate of desertion in the confederate armies, their northern counterparts had the highest.

Also, maryland was pretty much forced to join the north, being as lincoln arrested most of the law enforcement, judges, newspaper editors, anyone that was pro south.

And dont give me any crap about how they never supported the south during its invasion of maryland. the area they invaded was very close to pennsylvania and had a lot of northern sympathizers

Secondly does anyone know of any stations in NC that pick up any of the JFK shows (yes even D&M) I'm tierd of listening to the trash that is around my college. <P>

They started playing promos with R&F (excerpts from a previous night's show). Granted it's not the same promotion that Stern, D&M, O&A, and the Redskins get but it's a step in the right direction.

Maniac is dead right, it's absurd that after all these years they still don't mention R&F in the "group" bumpers...even after they added O&A to it, still no R&F.

And the only times I hear individual R&F promos on a regular basis are during the last hour of the D&M show and the last hour of The Junkies show...I very, VERY rarely hear one during O&A, which seems odd...

I gotta say, even though I am disrupting the DC listener thread you guys are great to have on the board. And we happy to hear that you are pissed at JFK for the treatment they give to Ron and Fez...I have to say to make ya a bit jealous, you missed the ole promos of R&F we used to get in the dot com days. People listened, but they loved the old promos for them...I know you can probable get them off of foundrymusic.com if you put in Ron and Fez under sound boards heading...if you cant find it there, email me and Ill send ya a copy of it... Just know that we here in NY love the support you give to Ron and Fez, and some day we will eventually replace those old hack replays with a live show in DC...

nope...the mason-dixon line was around before the war...the original confederate capitol was Montgomery Alabama, but they moved it to Richmond once Virginia seceded because it was closer to DC....maryland was occupied by federal troops in direct violation of the constitution for no apparent reason

whenever i see maps and stuff that divide the country into the sections of "northeast, south, southwest.. etc etc", Maryland is always in the Northeast station. so that means we arent south. and me living in "southern maryland" doesnt make me southern either cause maryland is a northeastern state. maps dont lie. people do.

Hey DC listeners what happened yesterday. I am at the beach and can not hear the station.

So Howard went off on O &A what was on 11-3pm.

Did Don and Mike say anything about the new time slot. What did JFK play at 11pm?

Hey jafter.

11-3 was "best of" Sports Junkies.

I listened to the first hour of D&M to hear what they would say about the switch -- and to see if they would push for R&F from 10-3.

Basically, they couldn't (and didn't) mention O&A by name but they hinted that they were happy over O&A, Ken Stevens and Jeremy Coleman getting fired. Mostly they said "we're glad to be back on afternoons", "we're looking forward to bringing the afternoon show up from 18th place in the DC ratings", etc.

No mention of R&F from 10-2 on WJFK (unless I missed it later on).
